One problem related to speed control cable has been reported for the 1999 Ford E-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Cruise control on,traveling on major highway at 65 mph,shut off cruise control,to slow for exit vehicle would not slow down,had to apply brakes very hard. Able to get vehicle slowed,released brakes after stop vehicle accelerated with out touching accel pedal,,,wife was driving car,,looked next day found cable from cruise control module to throttle ,retainer broken cable frayed and jammed on bracket. .
