Recall 19s07 the 1st time was driving 72mph down the interstate and the truck downshifted causing us to be jolted and an 18 wheeler to almost rear end us. Received the recall letter from Ford (literally 2 weeks after it 1st happened) for a sensor to be reset bc of truck suddenly downshifting while in motion. After dealership finished truck still was downshifting while in motion on highway or street at any speed. Took truck back and they reset again. Truck still continues to downshift while in motion. Was almost rear ended again in highway. It is hard to steer and control when it happens on the highway. Have to pull over and restart engine to be able to go again. Ford is saying we have to pay for a diagnosis, but the only problem with the truck is what it is being recalled for. Their remedy of reprograming the sensor is not working and driving the truck is dangerous. We need help please! they won't fix their faulty problem.

Truck has re-occurring frequent episodes of center control panel does not function - when this occurs- radio does not work - no heater -window defroster or a. C / windows can not be rolled up or down - air bag indicator is not working - so don't know if the air bags would deployed if an accident should occur . The truck has been to 1 dealer which said it was a soft wear issue and claimed to fix it . . Lasted less than 50 miles and back to square one ,, sitting at the second dealer which states it not doing it now ,, so come and pick it up , they ran a diagnostics and no default codes were found . This is not resolving the issue . If you cant tell me what you did to fix it . . The issue remains unresolved . . A safety issue for all occupants in the cab of the truck . . If the air bags fail to deploy because of the issue stated in this complaint is not addressed by the Ford motor company. . I have been in contact with the Ford relationship - personnel - and now awaiting for a call from the regional officer . . . The truck is still under factory warranty and Ford is required to fulfill there obligation to the consumer and fix default product. .

I own a 2006 Ford f-150 4x4 pickup. Two weeks ago the speed odometer went crazy, it started out sticking at 10 mph and moved all the way over to 120+ and sometimes drops to the 40 mph area and then right back up to the 120 mph zone. I have never had this truck over 75 mph. . . Ever. I checked for a cable malfunction but I found out there is no cable, its electronic. This truck has 144,000 miles what is going on with Ford these days? is there a recall on something? how do you fix this? I have already changed all 8 coil packs on this truck for an unrelated problem with ignition. I hear the spark plugs are a pain also. All I know now when I drive this truck there is no way to tell how fast I am going. I just judge my speed by how fast everybody else is going. If nobody is on the road I am screwed. . . Thanks a lot Ford !!!.

The electronics on the dash reset, causing the radio to malfunction and other related issues with date, time and radio programs, dimming controls, and unknown other issues. The dealer resets, but I have too keep returning for corrections. This must be completed by a third party. This is not correct as I have no idea what other components are affected. By this. The dealer says the dashboard systems may need to be exchanged. Why?.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford E-150. While driving at any speed, the vehicle made a very loud noise and decreased in speed while turning. The steering warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rack and pinion electronic assist failed. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 217,000.
Went to have truck tuned up--mechanic would not even touch spark plugs because they break off and the entire head has to be removed for repair. Told us tune up would be very expensive and if they broke it would be even high. From what I was told if spark plug is bad it can result in failure of catalytic convert and result in a car fire. Will it take a death before Ford does a recall how do consumers maintain a vehicle when and authorized mechanic will not do the work.
My vehicle according the NHTSA has recall #09v399000 for the brake system speed control which can catch on fire even in the garage with the vehicle off. I asked Ford to repair this because I just bought this vehicle and they claim there are no recalls on this vehicle, and I know there is and I know the recall hasn't been installed on my vehicle. Are they saying this because time ran out to have this done because I just bought this vehicle or do they just not want to? thanks for your help.

Driving at 35mph, vehicle started making a backfiring sound and losing power. Pulled vehicle into a parking lot and had towed to Ford dealer. Ford service adviser said #3 spark plug blew out of engine. He had service technician pull other plugs and checked gap on plugs to find all plugs were original factory installed.
While traveling on the highway, my 2003 e150 Ford van blew the #2 spark plug out. There was a popping sound and then the engine sounded as if it blew a rod. After checking it out, it was discovered that it was the spark plug. A few days prior to his event, I could hear a slight tapping sound coming from the engine. I had the oil changed just to be sure. The spark plug has been replaced, with a helicoil inserted, but the wall of the head was even damaged. My mechanic did an awesome job repairing it but even said he couldn't guarantee it would last a 100 miles or 100,000 due to the head damage. He even recommended I trade it in. With only 138,000 miles on it I'm not ready to let it go. Hopefully the new plug will hold and I won't have to trade in my van.

On approximately 8/25/2010, while driving on the highway the vehicle suddenly shut down electrically. It couldn't be started by aaa. It was towed to a local repair shop and they found a burned wire that went from the fuse box to a junction box. He told me that this is an engeneering defect in the vehicle as the wire is too close to the brakes and when it gets hot the wire burns out. He also said that the vehicle can eventually go on fire. It was repaired and then on 9/25/2011 the same thing occured. I had the vehicle towed to american Ford on rt 17 south in paramus new jersey. They found again a burned wire from the fuse box. I asked them not to repair the vehicle until someone from the national safety board investigates this vehicle.

Sirs, I recently purchased a 2004 Ford f-150 supercab truck. Since I have had this vehicle it has shut off sixteen times. On one occasion I was in the middle of an intersection. I was lucky and did not have an accident. Please file this complaint, because I have learned this is a wide spread problem. I hope it is corrected before someone is killed. Thank you,
paul ferguson.
