After starting my van on the morning of 02/06/2014, my low tire pressure monitor alerted me of low air pressure in one of my tires. I checked my tires to see which tire was low, and noticed the tread separating from the left rear tire. Because of this tire condition I inspected my other three tires and noticed all of the tires had slight tread separation. I quickly made an appointment to replace all four tires at belle tire of belleville, mi. At this time I wasn't aware of any recall on my tires. After reading an article about tire recalls on Feb,24 2014 for my vehicle, I called michelin to see if my tires were part of the recall, but without the old tires I could not prove the type of tire I had, they would not pay for the replacement of my tires. Okay I understand that, but my tires only had 36000 miles and had tread separation. I told the michelin rep they may want to expand the recall because my tires were falling apart as well. I'm just glad they didn't blow out while driving!!!.

Driving this van is very difficult, it will not hold a straight line ,when you pass big trucks going approximately 65 mph ,the vacuum sucks it up ,and it gets more uncontrollable, causing a minor fish tale. Of course Ford checked it out and found nothing wrong . M---KS could not duplicate the problem. . Do not drive this van if is at all windy, could become uncontrollable and unsafe . The wandering in the steering is not acceptable . I would not recommend this van for anyone. Or any business.

We have a van that has michelin tires (225/75 r16). The vehicle had 37000 miles at the time of the first incident and the tire began to show separation on 6/2/2013 at 3 pm. The tire was replaced at a certified tire business. The opposite rear tire began to separate on the subsequent trip as we traveled to houston on 6/6/2013. We were traveling around 60 miles per hour and again the tire showed signs of separation.

The aluminum wheel caused the seal to break between the rim and tire which resulted in all four tires losing air pressure.
