2 Equipment problem of the 2013 Ford E-250

Failure Date: 02/03/2024

Hello I have this 2013 Ford e250 van and its stop driving and transmission stop working in the middle of the road and there is a link say its has recall on same problem listed on recall but today I went to Ford dealer and they look and say there is no recall on transmission issue please read this listed about transmission please help : 2009-2016 Ford econoline recalled for loss of motive power issue Ford has issued a recall for 2009-2016 Ford econoline / e-series models over a transmission component that could result in a motive power loss issue. The defect: affected vehicles contain a capacitive discharge weld within a coast clutch component in the transmission. A substandard weld may fatigue and fail, causing the loss of the ability to move the vehicle. All normal engine, braking, and steering functionality is unaffected. Reports indicate that the majority of weld failures occur when torque is highest, which is when the driver attempts to accelerate from a stop. The hazards: an elevated rate of loss of mobility in school bus and ambulance vehicle applications could present a unique risk to passengers or occupants including a loss of mobility in school bus applications may result in the transfer of unchaperoned children when the vehicle is immobilized in a roadway. Loss of vehicle mobility in ambulance applications may result in delay of patient treatment. Ford is unaware of any accidents resulting from this condition. Components: coast clutch capacitive discharge weld (inside transmission).

3 Equipment problem of the 2006 Ford E-250

Failure Date: 09/26/2022

When I go to the lake boating, I always remove my battery from the engine compartment and take it with me as a backup in case my boat battery should fail. On September 26, 2022, when leaving the lake, I reinstalled the battery bas I always do and closed the hood. It appeared closed when the hood surface aligned with the side panel. After leaving the boat ramp I turned onto fm 2272 and was accelerating to the posted speed limit of 55. At 40 mph, all of a sudden, the hood flew up into the windshield shattering it from one side of the vehicle to the other. My view of the road was completely obstructed as I was covered in pieces of broken glass. Fortunately, I was able to see the white lane marker through the bottom of the windshield as there was about a 3-inch gap between the bottom of the hood and the bottom of the windshield so I could safely pull my vehicle off the roadway. I know I closed the hood before leaving the boat ramp and even if I hadn't fully closed the hood the secondary hood latch should have prevented the accident from occurring. The secondary. Latch is not dependent on the release mechanism and is 100% a mechanical device requiring a person to physically push on the release lever under the hood in order to open it. Had the hood opened while I was on an interstate highway or at night the accident could have been fatal.

4 Equipment problem of the 2004 Ford E-250

Failure Date: 06/03/2022

I arrived at my destination, lined up to park, shifted my foot from accelerator to brake and . . . Yikes the engine was racing like crazy. I put both feet on the brake, shoving hard, engine continues to accelerate over the curb & into a fence. Pulling against the brakes, the engine continued to race. I reached to yank it out of gear, when it took off backwards across the parking lot. Still standing on the brakes, I frantically looked for a path that would give me time to kill the engine. Skipped the window that I couldn't see if there were people on the other side of it . . . Angled to go around parked cars and went for the ignition switch to kill the engine. After I got the engine switch off, the momentum carried me into the first parked car, which shoved it into the next parked car. Thank goodness there were no people in either, nor in the parking lot!! no warnings of any kind. The entire vehicle is available for inspection; it has yet to be inspected. There is no way I would drive this suicidal-murdering death-trap anywhere, so I had it towed. Police and insurance have been notified.

5 Equipment problem of the 2006 Ford E-250

Failure Date: 12/31/2019

We purchased a vehicle from gascar auto in miami, florida on December 31st, 2019. We drove it back to minnesota. It took us 4 months and over 30 phone calls to get them to send us the title-which they wrote date of sale as 4/19/2020. We just ran the vehicles VIN, (the dealership had also ran a carfax, but not disclosed to us an accident or the discrepancy in mileage) and discovered the odometer had been rolled back to read 100,000 less miles than we were told we were purchasing it with. We were under the impression we were buying what we were told we were buying on the odometer disclosure form, not a vehicle with 100k more miles. Had we known that, and had we known the company would falsify the dates on the title and refuse to give it to us, we never would have purchased the vehicle. They lied on several occasions about sending the title, and it took a notification our attorney was involved to get them to mail it after 4 months. In contacting the dealer today, he told us it isnt his problem because he had "exempt" written on the front of the title. However, he did fill out the odometer disclosure, he did falsify the date of sale, and he did sell us a title that had apparently originally been purchased by his dealership more than 1 year prior, though he never transferred the title to the dealership from the previous owner. I am including documentation of all of this.

6 Equipment problem of the 2012 Ford E-250

Possible passenger seat belt fire in unoccupied parked vehicle. This van was in business parking lot unoccupied when a vehicle fire occurred that appears to originate from the passenger side seat belt lock (pictured attached). The host company also has video footage showing the vehicle on camera where you can see the windows turn from clear to black.

8 Equipment problem of the 2017 Ford E-250

Failure Date: 03/18/2017

2017 Ford 250 diesel whether traveling or stopped the recirculation air mode turns off after 5 minutes and goes to outside air. The temperature inside will change by 10 degrees in extreme cold and hot weather. This necessitates taking ones eyes off the road and looking down at the controls to reset the recirculation mode. This has occurred since the vehicle was purchased new and is continually occurring. The vehicle was taken to a Ford dealership on 12/5/2017 and the dealership said nothing could be done to rectify the problem. This is more hazardous than cell phone usage as one can raise the cell phone to eye or ear level to use it. This computer programming for the recirculation mode will cause numerous accidents that will be attributed to reckless driving or loss of situational awareness. There is a simple fix to reprogram the computer however Ford will not do it. So far I have avoided an accident, but I can assure NHTSA accidents, injuries, and fatalities will occur because of this. Please force Ford to recall these vehicles to correct this problem.

Failure Date: 12/03/2014

Attempted to start vehicle using the remote start feature and the truck started for about 10 seconds then shut off. After several attempts to restart the truck I had to get the dealership to tow it in and perform necessary repairs, which just happened to be another egt sensor.

11 Equipment problem of the 2006 Ford E-250

Failure Date: 04/15/2006

Ford 2005 e250 has been identified with formaldehyde poison in it at above danger levels to humans which can cause serious health issues. The van is custom done by a company in mississippi. The a/c unit in the rear doesn't work and was in for service 3 times and over the 15 day requirement for lemon law in the state of FL where it was sold. After the lemon law is completed I am going to request that a national alert be issued to make sure no one else becomes sick due to this toxic fumes but we can not do it at this time.
