I own a 2022 thor quantum lc22 motorhome build on a 2022 Ford e350 chassis. The rear dually tires were installed with dicor brand inner tire valve extenders. These extenders are attached to the outer wheels using a plastic clip. The plastic clip on the driver's side extender broke off, causing the extender device to hang free. As I was driving the vehicle, the device wedged between the tires and cut the sidewalls on both, causing a sudden flat tire. Both tires needed to be replaced. When at the repair shop, the mechanic found the other valve extender on the passenger side was also broken and hanging free. I believe this is a defect and should be investigated as it could cause a blowout.

I recently purchased a used 24 1999 winnebago itasca spirit with very low mileage and at that time I noticed a shaking or vibration problem possibly coming from the tires. I owned a motor home in the past and have some experience. This motor home sat for several years so I attributed the shaking to the memory in the rubber of flat spots on the bottom from sitting for a long time that usually smooth out when driven especially after 30 or 40 miles on a warm day, but after a 400 mile trip it didn't smooth out, in fact it seems to have worsened. Before purchasing it from a private party I ran an instavin and carfax report and only discovered an uncompleted NHTSA recall #05s28 on the speed control only. I then searched several forums and discovered many, many reports of the same problem with the shaking and learned it is due to faulty wheels and Ford is not making good the problem but offered an expensive fix that I understand is also iffy. I am very concerned about my family's safety driving on these defective wheels and first looked into replacing the tires which I learned isn't the problem but the faulty wheels that were an oem Ford part, so I want to add my complaint to the many you already have and maybe Ford will fix this potentially serious safety problem.

Three out of the four original tires have separated. The vehicle has less than 20,000 miles. All tires have been maintained and inflated according to manufacturer specs.

I work for the university of California san diego fleet services. We have several 2014 Ford E-350's in our rental fleet. Some time a few years back michelin recalled many of the ltx tires on many of our vans. The dot code on the tires on this van did not fall under the michelin recall. As you can see in the photo this tire had a tread separation on a rear tire, van full of passengers. We are really lucky this van did not roll over. This happened traveling on the highway at speeds within the posted limit. The tread as it came separated from the tire damaged the undercarriage of the van & pulled a loose heater hose which caused coolant to leak and the van over heated & left a group stranded in the desert. We believe michelin may want to take another look at the date codes that should be covered under this recall. The tire in the photos that still has tread was removed from the same van (spare position) before it failed. You can see it was getting ready to loose the tread as well and it was not on the road and not exposed to excessive sun light. We will send these tires back to a michelin dealer & see what they will do for us.

(hk - should this be a tire complaint?) tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford E-350. While driving approximately 55 mph, the rear passenger side tire blew out without warning. The contact stated that the dealer (jack schmitt Chevrolet of wood river, 1870 e edwardsville rd, wood river, IL 62095) knew the tires were not for the vehicle when it was sold to the contact. The manufacturer was contacted. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 67,000.

Had three tires michelin come apart within 30 days the tire dealers I went to told me they appeared to have failed due to a manufacturing defect. When the tires failed they caused other damage to the auto traction control system and tire pressure monitor. They examined the spare and said it showed signs of same problem.

Steel rim failure. Purchased vehicle with 8000 miles on odometer October 2014. As of today December 2017 the odometer reads 141,000 miles . I have replace all four rims on this vehicle one by one. First issue I was loosing hub caps while driving continuously,I finally gave up and took all off, left bare rims. Then the second issue was rims cracking and failing at the welded point where the spokes/struts are attached. The same failure is the same place over and over. Noticed this issue while driving and tpms light would come on,I would pull over and by the time I got stopped the tire was completely flat. Very dangerous issues for other drivers on the road as well as myself and family .
Rented budget truck in alabama on 8/30. Drove from alabama to iowa. Rented an auto transport in addition to the Ford E-350 (2012). The E-350 was the only one available and I needed to take it because I had no other option but to move on that date. The E-350 had the following dangerous issues: 1) nearly bald front left tire. 2) windshield wipers did not reliably clear rain from windshield (blurred vision) 3) had to manually pump fuel every 1/2 gallon. The fuel pump would cut off every 1/2 gallon even though the truck was half full of fuel. This happened at two different gas stations. 4) the auto transport was rusted and appeared to have never been inspected thoroughly. 5) the auto transport was rented to me with low tire pressure in the right side tires. 6) the auto transport had defective ratchet straps which were used for the securing of the towed vehicle. 7) the auto transport's tongue jack was damaged with bent metal where the connection pin was located. While I got to my destination safely, I used very safe driving techniques in order to ensure that neither I nor my wife were injured during our drive. She drove in a separate car and would drive next to the E-350 to inspect the integrity of the ratchet straps on the auto transport every 20 miles to ensure they were still working. I have driven many vehicles in my lifetime, even military vehicles, and I have never felt so unsafe as I did in this budget truck rental with auto transport. This was one of the worst experiences of my driving history and I will never rent from budget truck rental again.
While traveling on the highway the hub cap on the driver?s side rear wheel came off. The truck had a little over 3000 miles on it. I was driving normally and didn't even notice when the hub cap came off. I only noticed it was missing when I reached my destination. I have attempted to work with the dealer and Ford customer service. Both the dealer and Ford motor corporation refuse to see this as a defective part and refuse to warranty these parts. I can remove the remaining hub caps from my truck easily using my bare hands. . Read more...
Budget rental truck did not inspect the car carrier rented to me. Three hundred miles into the travel, the tire blew and goodyear discovered that there was no brake pad, the brake fluid was leaking, the caliber, and rotor were bad. Had the tire not blown, this could have cause a fatal accident.
I am owner of jwd delivery, a fedex home delivery contractor, I have 4 of the same trucks 2012/2013 and there are many others in our terminal. They all have the same issue, excessive tire wear of front tires. The tires fail inspection after 5-7k miles. Over $8k in tires on four trucks in less than a year and a half. Trucks have between 25k and 50k miles on them. Had a Ford engineer look at them and the body company did not factor in the weight and distribution when they but this body on this chasis. The engineer stated these trucks are dangerous and can flip over or fail to stop due to this problem. The body company will not fix the problem or take responsibility. These need to be fixed, replaced, or taken of the road as dangerous. I have been working on this myself for over a year to get fix and find the problem before someone does get injured or killed. I would like to talk to someone about getting them recalled, that is the only way the body company will take care of the problem. Utilimasters solution is to continue to replace the tires and do front end alignments each time which I had initially tried and the tire wear is no better. Basically the weight of the packages is on the shelves on the outside of the body and the trucks are driving on the tire edges not flush to the road. I can document everything.
The contact owns a 1999 Ford E-350. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the contact noticed that the rear of the vehicle was low. The contact stopped and inspected the vehicle but could find nothing wrong. When she reached her residence, she saw that the driver side rear tire lug nuts had ripped of the wheel and fractured the rim. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 141,000.
