Three problems related to seats have been reported for the 1996 Ford Econoline. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Seat brackets on driver's seat snapped, vehicle was stopped, consumer's foot on brake, seat went all the way back. Ford takes no responsibility since out of warranty, and vehicle being conversion van. Ford dealer offered to pay 2/3 of cost of repair.
Design of the seat arm rests allows seat belt buckle to release when arms are down and seat is in upright position.
Captain chair do not offer sufficient support for back and head, resulting in uncomfortable ride and potential for head injury if accident occurs.
