One problem related to high/low beam switch has been reported for the 1997 Ford Econoline. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Ongoing problem with dimmer switches going out, and causing ambulance to be without headlights while on service calls; this can cause vehicle collision while driving. Asking NHTSA to look into this matter ( eight replacement on this fleets of vehicle ).
