The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, a loud banging noise and the sound of metal being dragged on the ground was heard from outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road. The contact noticed that the front passenger's side tire exploded. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The defective tire had not been replaced. The manufacturer had not been notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 300,000. The tire failure mileage was unknown.

Vibration between 50 to 70 mph. Had same type problem with 1997 van and tires were switched to michlen and corrected problem. They wont do this I was told.
Goodyear is replacing these tires on 15 passenger vans. Our van has the identical chassis and tires, but goodyear ignores them. Please help. We travel to art shows with as much or more weight then a passenger van. Most of our travel is at interstate speeds. Any suggestions? (tiresize: lt245/75r1).
Vehicle was parked when back tire was low on air. Noticed cracks 1/4" around the rim. Checked other tires & same type of cracks on those tires. Tires were original equipment. Have not had tires exchanged. Firestone steel tex, rt225/75r16 with 4,000 miles on a 1999,Ford Econoline.
