Diesel Fuel System problem #1

The contact owns a 2005 Ford Econoline 350. While driving approximately 65 mph up a hill the vehicle lost power and it became difficult to accelerate. The failure occurred every time the vehicle was driven in the last two weeks. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians stated that the failure was due to delamination in the gasoline tank and that the fuel pump, oil and fuel filters would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 69,000.

Ambulance on Ford e-450 and f-350 chassis have had major fuel system failures. Both ambulances in the past year have had the lining of the dieself fuel tanks rust off and get pulled into the fuel system. The metal flakes have ruined sending units,fuel pumps, diesel injectors, fuel filters and filter housings. It has caused the ambulances to stall while transporting critically ill patients to the hospital. Ir has also cost close to $9000. 00 to fix both ambulances. The fix was to replace all fuel components from the diesel tank forward to the diesel manifold.

The contact owns a 2005 Ford Econoline. The contact stated that she could smell fuel inside the vehicle and smoke escaped from the tailpipe. The dealer replaced the liner on the fuel tank twice. The dealer stated that the diesel fuel ate through the lining. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000 and the current mileage was approximately 78,000.
