Seats Problems of Ford Econoline

The contact owns a 1999 Ford Econoline. The contact noticed that the conversion seat reclines to an unsafe position. Upon further inspection, he noticed structural damage due to metal fatigue. The equipment manufacturer was delegate. The manufacturer stated that they would not assume any responsibility for the repair of the seat. The vehicle has not been repaired. Seat brackets on driver's seat snapped, vehicle was stopped, consumer's foot on brake, seat went all the way back. Ford takes no responsibility since out of warranty, and vehicle being conversion van. Ford dealer offered to pay 2/3 of cost of repair.

Seat design is too high for consumer to reach floor.

Design of the seat arm rests allows seat belt buckle to release when arms are down and seat is in upright position.

Driver's seat goes backward when accelerating. Ford has replaced tracks four times, and problem has reoccurred.

Captain chair do not offer sufficient support for back and head, resulting in uncomfortable ride and potential for head injury if accident occurs.
