The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated that he rebuilt the front end of the vehicle and installed an aftermarket passenger side control arm. The part was manufactured by ultra power (part number: rk620486). While driving approximately 55 mph, the passenger side control arm fractured approximately two weeks after installation. Due to the failure, one of the tires blew out and the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. A local Ford dealer and the manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 191,000. The VIN was not available.
