1 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. While driving various speeds, the vehicle hard shifted. The contact stated that the vehicle lunged forward while stationary and suffered a loss of power or engine stalling on more than one occasion. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the power control module and the ignition coils failed and caused a cylinder misfire. In addition, the ignition coils melted. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

2 Ignition problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2016

The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle lost power and was towed to an independent mechanic. It was diagnosed that the ignition coil needed to be replaced due to being overheated by the pcm computer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,700.
