The rear taillight socket melted due to excessive heat. This has happened twice to the same vehicle. Once in 05/2019. At the time, a dealer service center recommended replacing the junction box, a $700 repair. The same issue has occurred again.
The locked door emblem sporadically comes on and stays on. It makes my interior lights stay on. It runs my battery down. The back passenger side door was opened by a rider and the lock all doors button had been engaged. The red light was on to show doors were not locked. This has been an ongoing issue for several months now. I have an appointment at Ford garage 09/13/22.
My backup lights kept burning out and are no longer functional. My directional and taillights have both burned out excessively. Last time I changed my left tail light I noticed the socket the bulb goes into looked a bit charred. My right directional recently burned out and this time the bulb is melted into the socket. I have an appt to have a mechanic change all rear sockets. Upon discovering the melted socket I checked on line and apparently this is a big problem for Ford Edge. This should be recalled as it is a serious problem.
Vehicle hard steering when drove Ford-from lot- always something wrong with brakes-wheel bearings- wheels- alignment electrical lightning for entire vehicle- sunroof also included in malfunctions *main safety concern front end / tranny grinding amongst other noises.
Problem with the computer for dash. Was worked on at Ford dealership in lexington ky and had to borrow money with the lender that was already financing the vehicle for me for repairs. They was unable to repair it but still charged me almost 1,800. 00.
Dash board lights completely out. When car is in drive rpm not appearing also gauges not working. Compass data error appears up with red battery symbol.
The door ajar light stays on, not all of the time, and causing the battery to die. I transport kids and travel so it is very stressful not knowing if my car will be dead or noy when I get back to it.
Driver's door ajar light comes on. Making a dining sound continuously, turning interior car lights on, and won't allow doors to lock. But the door is shut. This concerns me with the lights turning on at night, and what if I really do have a door that isn't shut. This can happen as soon as you start the car, or later while driving down the road.
My brakes make a hissing noise when I press down. . I have to press all the way down to get it to stop. This is very dangerous. Also, my back tail lite has had to be replaced 2 times because the socket got hot. Also, my car jumps sometimes when pressing on the gas(transmission issue?) I have also had the gas tank replaced(due to a recall).
Rear turn light sockets burn up with no warning light to display that your rear lights no longer work. You do not know until the police pulls you over to tell you which can result in fines. I had to pay to replace both rear light sockets (approx. $150).
Takata recall I am writing due to a problem with burnt/melted taillight bulb/socket. I noticed that my taillight is burning out much sooner than it should and it is caused by the socket which is burnt and melted. How can I resolve this problem.
Takata recall 16s26/ NHTSA recall 16v-384. My car was sold to me a vehicle exchange in phx and now I have all sort of problems with the fuel tank, timer, it leaks coolant and also the dome lights won't go off . I need to get this fixed ASAP. Contact me at 4805937152, my name is matthew garner. My car also overheats and the air conditioning only blows out really hard on the passenger side. Please help me I have twin and my wife and I need a reliable car.
I have had to constantly replace the bulb for the driver side light enclosure. The bulb blows out shortly after replacing. Most recently it was changed on April 4th and blew out April 6th.
About 3 months ago the drivers side front door ajar light was staying on and would not go away even the door was closed. We have been all kinds of other problems related to this problem such as door chimes going off randomly all the time the dome lights will not turn off when car is parked and shut off. The noise and lights are a major distraction. The other problem we have experienced with the vehicle but have had fixed is the two rear wheel bearings have been replaced. The first when the vehicle had only 36,000 plus or minus a thousand or two and the other when we only had 60,000 miles on vehicle. This is expensive and should not go bad in that short of time. We do not pull anything with the vehicle or drive it rough.
The driver door ajar warning is illuminated on the dash and the doom lights wont turn off. I have found out this is a very common issue with Fords where the poorly designed door latch binds up. I had this same issue with my 2002 explorer and now with my 2008 Edge. It becomes a huge safety issue at night since the dome lights will not turn off so it is hard to see outside and could potentially cause an accident. From what I can tell I have been lucky to get this far before this issue has surfaced since I have read that Ford cars 2 to 3 years old seem to have this very same issue.
The "driver door ajar" message continues to go off on our 2008 Ford Edge. The door is securely closed. The lights will stay on finally causing a complete drain on our battery last night during the night. This is a big safety concern as the doors do not lock sometime until several miles down the road. We could also be left stranded somewhere as we never know when it is going to happen. We go to bed all lights are off and sometime during the night they come on. We have tried several suggestions regarding engine lubricant on the plunger, but it is a temp fix at best. This is a safety problem. I would like to have it fixed by Ford. Clearly if you do research on the internet this has been a problem with the Ford Edges for several years.
Rear bulbs failure changed 4 times since 6/01/2014 last change 10/24/2014 both sockets black and burned haven't changed sockets.
My wife and I purchased our Ford Edge used from a dealer, it is the limited model. Drove the car for a few days after our purchase and everything seemed fine. On the third day I noticed my drivers side rear indicator lamp wasn't working. On inspection the bulb and socket were melted together and I was unable to remove the bulb. Both filaments in the bulb were in-tact. The failure appeared to be related to the socket getting so hot that it actually melted and failed. I have not checked the rear passenger side but I'm assuming I will find a burned socket.
Both my rear turning signal light sockets have melted.
Right brake bulb went out so took the bulb out to replace it and notice the black/plastic part of the bulb was melted. So I took the other side off and found same issue.
Door ajar icon on all doors closed dome lights only go off when car is in motion however if you hit breaks as if your going to stop dome lights come back on .
Vehicle rolls when placed in park, vehicle rolls backwards on inclines while vehicle is in drive, rear bulb constantly burns out, strut and suspension failed.
At 40,000 miles rear blinker bulb went out and upon replacement the bulb had melt and the socket showed heat scorch. Ford said this was common on Edges. At 85,000 the same thing occurred however this time the bulbs had major melt at the base of the bulb. Ford says they now have a tech bulletin and says to use a new part number bulb. Very apparent that the bulb was experiencing a high temperature that caused the melt.
Melted rear directional socket. It is the third time I have to change the light bulb.
