Failure Date: 01/11/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. While driving 70 mph, the check engine and air bag warning indicators illuminated. Also, the odometer became inoperable and the vehicle failed to maintain forward momentum. The vehicle was safely guided off of the roadway, the ignition was placed in the off position, and the vehicle was restarted; however, it failed to accelerate. The approximate failure mileage was 159,000.

2 Fail To Accelerate problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2011

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. While driving 5 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to accelerate without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (olathe Ford Lincoln, 1845 e. Santa fe street, olathe, KS 66062) and the software was updated. The cause of the failure was not determined. The failure recurred and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.
