Was replaced however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the shop where it was diagnosed that the brakes failed and needed to be replaced however, the failure recurred. The check engine warning light illuminated, and the low oil pressure warning light illuminated. The contact stated that after a week, the failure recurred, the gears failed to shift in the intended gears. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle hesitated and stalled. The vehicle was towed to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine failed and needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact stated that she was informed by the dealer of the NHTSA campaign number 14v682000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.

2 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 11/04/2021

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA campaign number: 14v682000 (fuel system, gasoline) on November 4, 2021. However, the vehicle experienced a fuel leak. The contact stated that the dealer applied a corrosion preventative to the fuel tank instead of replacing the fuel tank as expected. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.

3 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2021

The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. The contact stated after refueling the vehicle, once he parked the vehicle in the garage, he smelled a strong odor of gasoline coming from the vehicle. The contact looked underneath the vehicle and became aware of a fuel leak. The vehicle was not diagnosed.
