Takata recall - in July 2016 I was mailed a recall letter # 16s384 that my passenger side airbag was defective. I was informed this would be fixed no later the the end of sept. 2018. This recall has not been completed. My local Ford dealer continues to tell me there nothing they can do as replacement parts are not available. Is there any thing that ntsb can do to get this completed?.
"takata recall"-the June 2016 recall notice for my 2008 Ford Edge having a defective driver side airbag has not been remedied as the leif johnson Ford dealership in buda, texas does not have airbags available as of October 30, 2017 and the recall notice was in June 2016.
Takata recall. I filed a request with bill currie Ford for replacement of my takata airbags over a year ago. They still are saying they do not have parts in stock for the passenger side. They sold me this vehicle in 2014 knowing that this was a problem and did not reveal the problem at the time. For over a year they have failed to respond to replacing my airbags even though I have requested it 3 times. They are finally replacing the driver's side airbag next week but are saying they still do not have parts for the passenger side.
Takata recall and 3 letters from Ford warning me about passenger side airbag and one letter from takata about class action suit against takata. Metal fragments from ruptured airbag could cause serious injury or death and already has! Ford's solution "don't let anyone ride in passenger side!"! this is not acceptable!!!.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Edge. While driving 20 mph, the contact crashed into the rear of a parked vehicle while making a sharp right turn. The driver side air bag exploded and cut the contact's face. Medical attention was not required. The contact was accused of a hit and run crash by the police. A police report was filed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was unknown.
I have receiving recall letters on my 2008 Ford Edge for a passenge-side airbag malfunction since October 2014. It is now November 2016 and the local Ford dealer tells me that the part is still not available. At assistance is greatly appreciated.
I was involved in a lateral collision to the drivers side/door at an alleged 25 mph when a subject driving a 97 chevy cavalier, failed to stop at a red traffic signal at an intersection. Subject had a high level of intoxication (. 175 bac) & impaired judgment; he continued to accelerate through the intersection striking my vehicle in the drivers side door. I was the sole occupant and driver of the 2008 Ford Edge. The crash forces did push me through the intersection where my vehicle came to rest several yards from the point of impact. I was not able to open my drivers side window or drivers side door, several emergency personnel pulled and pried on the door until it opened to free me. The police report indicates that there was no airbag deployment; the officer who came to the hospital to follow up also voiced his disbelief that the airbags did not deploy. The property damage appraisers report specifically states that the side impact airbags did not deploy also. There was replacement of the entire left side from bumper to bumper. Includes replacing the l steering tie rod, l center pillar & rocker, l ctr pillar reinforcement, l frt seat assembly, both doors, fenders, underbody repair, seatbelt, alloy wheel/tire, and transmission problems. I'm an occupant protection coordinator & child passenger safety tech/instructor, and in correspondence with my colleagues in the safety industry, we're all shocked at the inoperability of my side impact airbags. I only had about 6500 miles on the vehicle at the time of the crash. I was transported by squad and treated for injuries to the entire left side of my body (specifically my head, shoulder, elbow, hip,) and the right side of my neck. Im still in need of and receiving medical treatments for the injuries caused by this crash. I field a complaint with Ford in oct 08 and submitted the claim to Ford (01/18/09). No acknowledgement or response to my claim has been received to date.
