2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/16/2020

Door ajar light continually went on and off while in motion whether on a highway or city street. Noticed it also went on during left turns. Door locks on all doors would click on and off at stops. I wasn't sure that doors were locked with my children in the car. Internal lights would also go on an off. Common issue on the internet with Ford Edges. It's all over and for years. I have young children and had to get the issue fixed at a cost of $542. 83. I believe Ford needs to pay for this safety issue. The part number to replace was the latch part number 8t4z 78264a27 a. So a new door latch needed to be installed along with the repair of a wire in the door harness near the lh side of the door speaker. I am the original owner of this vehicle.

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2020

My car has a faulty latch system in the driver side door. My door is completely shut however the warning light for an open door stays on and I am unable to lock my car while driving as this light stays on. This is also causing my lights to stay on as well. This is a safety concern because I have 2 children and I cannot lock my doors from the inside of my car while the car is in motion. I hit the lock button and since my car is showing that there is an open door, they immediately unlock and stay that way, which is a safety issue not only for myself but my children as well. I’ve had this issue for a couple of years now and went online and saw that several other Ford Edge owners have had the same problem.

4 Electrical System problem

I had this car in a Ford garage back in januarty I had to spend over $2000. 00 because one of the engine coils burned up and damaged the computer for the engine. This cars sucks I hate it but /.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/27/2018

Rear turn signal lamp and socket melted and burnt. Happened to right side then soon after left side. Replacement is showing signs of melting already. 6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2018

While in motion all the warning lights turned on and a warning beep would go off. It did this for 2 days, took it to get checked they told me a needed a new battery. Bough the battery and I still had same issue. Now the car won't start and the Ford retailer wants $125 just to diagnose the car.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2018

takata recall I am very disappointed and unsafe with my Ford Edge , for the last few weeks it has been shutting off when the car comes to a stop or in idle. There is no codes or any warning signs that comes up . The car just losses power and shits off on its own. I am tired of fixing and spending money behind my Ford Edge I know it has nothing to do with the engine because it was recently replaced last year July under warranty also I replaced all tensions and the water pump also spark plugs . I took it to my main mechanic and he could not figure out what's the problem he told me to go to Ford and I went to Ford and they took 2 days to tell me they don't know what's the problem . Today I was on my way home on the highway I come to slow down getting off on my exit and the car just shuts off and the steering wheel gets tight and I can't move or turn it . There was cars next to me and behind me and in front I could of got hurt or put others in danger . This is not safe for Ford to have vechiles out on the road like this with not source of how to fix it or any warning light.

I am reporting a very serious problem with the warning monitor sensor systems on my 2010 Ford Edge. As you may know there is a ¿door ajar sensor¿ notification system notifying the driver of a door being ajar. The problem is the sensor constantly fails when the door is not ajar or seems to not be ajar. There are several problems when there is the display one: ¿not sure doors are locked, especially when one is transporting children. ¿can not lock the car doors ¿ this is a major safety hazard with children in the car. Also, with the great increase in ¿car jackings¿, not being able to lock the doors makes the family very vulnerable. ¿next, the display leaves the interior lights on putting an unnecessary drain on the car electrical system. This could adversely safety of the other electrical systems causing a failure in traffic. ¿the warning message never times out and completely blocks the dashboard display preventing other warning messages or the system back up observation from working. Ford has known of this problem for several years and refuses to issue a recall in order to correct this safety problem.
