The contact owns a 2010 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while his brother was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration. During the failure, the braking system malfunctioned, causing the brake pedal to extend to the floorboard and the vehicle failed to stop immediately. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. Additionally, while the vehicle was in for service it was discovered that the subframe was rusted.
