While drive about 50 miles per hour on the street the wrench light went on then off. I pulled up to a stop light and when I tried to accelerate the car could hardly move. I was only able to limp along until I got to my destination. I shut the car off and when I came back after about 2 hours it started and has been driving fine the last two days, for now. No wrench light no power problems. I've been researching this issue online and have seen numerous other complaints with the same description as mine. A throttle body seems to be at fault. Apparently Ford knows of this issue and did not do a recall. Rather they did an extended warranty that ended in 2015.
When the ac is running, the car will stall out. It has happened in traffic on the high way and surburban streets. When idle and ignition is turned off then on again, the vehicle will not start. After approx. 35-55 minutes the car will then start. Finally, it is happening after longer periods of time. I was parked in a lot for several hours, when I went to start it the car would not turn over. I had to have it towed to my house where it did start again 1. 5 hours later. I fear for my children's lives.

I received a recall notice in the mail in December 2015. It stated that if my car was not exhibiting symptoms, Ford would notify me by mail when service parts would be available (see photos). It is now June 1, 2016. I decided to call my local Ford dealer to see if I parts were ready--I now have an appointment on Saturday, June 4 at 8am. My concern is that Ford never contacted me to let me know parts are available.
I buy my Ford Edge last year in 2016 at 3205 north highway 61 in muscatine, IA, I recently got a important legal notice that's why I'm doing this inspection.
While driving down a main highway with cruise control set at 60 mph, the vehicle suddenly started surging and the rpms were fluctuating then the vehicle accelerated rapidly until speed reached about 72 mph. I had to turn cruise control off for the speed to drop back down.

Vehicle stalled going 60 mph on busy freeway. Turned flashers on immediately and fortunately traffic realized vehicle was having difficulties and allowed me to move over to shoulder. Car restarted and exited to alternate route as soon as possible. Stalled repeatedly at various speeds after that. Currently waiting on trottle body to be shipped to mechanic for repair. Am aware that federal safety investigators are looking at same problem with fusion, milan, escape and mariner. Please consider doing the same for Ford Edge. This vehicle is only 2 1/2 years old. Other than the obvious safety threat this malfunction poses, it is also a costly repair.
Power failure while merging onto highway 5 in san diego CA. Engine rpm reduced to idle. After coasting to the side of the road, engine was idling. The engine was turned off and after about 1 minute it was restarted. I next shifted it back into drive and it was working again. Same failure occured on 7/29/2013 with the same results. Corrective action required throttle body asembly on back order.
#1) this vehicle was purchased brand new in 2010 and from the beginning when I press on the accelerator pedal the car will sometimes just goes into a dead mode and does nothing for a few seconds. If I try to accelerate and the car doesn't react I sometimes have to mash on the pedal to get the car to go. This has proven to be a very serious problem when I have to merge or turn quickly out of a side street of through an intersection in a quick manner. Its as if the car has a hiccup or some type of delay from pedal to motor? #2) on another note that has to do with dashboard design ,when I turn on my turn signals the high beam will sometimes engage because the high beam switch and the turn signal switch are on the same arm and the high beam is designed to be pushed forward instead of the traditional pulled toward you to activate. This pushing motion is consistent with my hand reaching toward the turn signal in a forward motion. This occurrence is sometimes mistaken for aggressive behavior or an annoyance to oncoming traffic.
