36 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/23/2015

Vehicle losses all throttle control vehicle does not shut off but the wrench light comes on the dash and has no throttle response. I have to turn vehicle off then restart to reset the computer. Every thing works great for a couple days then it does it again. I have had this happen in the middle of a intersection, on I 95 , I 64, I 264, coming close to being hit on passenger side in a intersection with my grand baby in the vehicle. I have had the vehicle in the dealership here in norfolk virginia. They charge me 125. 00 and said they could not duplicate the problem. The dealer also stated they think it might be a throttle body. I told them to put one on it and they told me that they don't just replace parts. I picked it up from the dealership and 2 days later it did this again. You could be doing 60, 65. Or 25 when it decides to lose throttle control. In the middle of a intersection turning or going 60 mph on the interstate it don't matter. I feel this is a safety concern and needs to be addressed. You can read about people with the same problem on the internet.

37 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/31/2015

Transmission will not shift into park. Dealership employee told me that this happens so often in Ford Edge and explorer that they have to keep the affected parts in stock constantly. This is clearly a safety defect and could result in serious consequences because the car would be left in gear without the transmission being locked. Ford motor company should correct this problem immediately before serious injury or death results.

38 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/26/2015

My husband and I were driving home (going approximately 40 mph) with our 2 year old and all of the sudden the car lost power. It did not die but wouldn't go over 5 mph. Thankfully, we were close to home and not on a busy highway. If we had been on a busy highway I do believe it would have cause an accident and that terrifies me since this is our primary family vehicle. I have read that Ford extended the warranty for this issue but was not made to issue a recall. Unfortunately, Ford inc's "customer satisfaction program" for this issue expired in January 2015 so now I will be out the money to fix this extremely dangerous issue. Ford motor company should be made to issue a recall to fix this issue before it kills someone.

39 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2015

This is the second report I have made about this issue. The first was on/about set. 26, 2015. When I was driving, the car in motion, the power train malfunction indicator (a wrench) comes on, the car loses all power, goes down to perhaps 2 miles per hour, and then stops. It feels as though the power steering also goes out. When the car stops, it shakes and jerks. You cannot accelerate. I turn the motor off and then on, "resetting" the indicator (per the Ford dealership). And the issue stops. It has happened again today, oct. 23rd. Twice (in the morning and again this afternoon). I called sam galloway Ford in fort myers, FL and was told to bring it in on Nov. 4th. Again, today is oct. 23. I was told, by danielle (service advisor), that "since it is not happening all the time it was fine to wait" until Nov. 4, 2015. I am afraid to drive this car this is a safety issue for me, anyone I have in the car, and other drivers. Are you going to wait until someone gets killed because of this issue? I am on busy roads when this happens. Why don't you do something????.

40 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2015

Wrench warning light, then lost acceleration, car stopped. Driving on highway when this occurred.

41 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2015

On a Friday afternoon in busy, fast moving highway traffic, I began a lane change to turn right off of the highway onto a neighborhood street. My car jolted then abruptly lost all acceleration. I did have electrical power and power steering, but no speed. I was able to creep along at snail pace staying to the far right. I put on my flashers, and fortunately all traffic behind me could safely manuever around to pass me. I was quite scared by the sudden onset of this problem, the loss of control and the fact that the instrument panel only gave me "wrench" symbol and no instructions or descriptions that were helpful. Once I turned the car off and turned it on again, the symbol light was gone and my car drove normally. At no time prior to this event did my instrument panel denote any issue with my power train. Once I had this failure, I took the vehicle to my dealer, maxwell Ford in austin, and they informed me this is an event that they have seen before. I am reporting it to you because I feel this was a very threatening situation. Losing all ability to accelerate put me at risk of being hit from behind. I was lucky to be going off the highway to the right. . . A left turn would have been fatal in this circumstance, as there was no way to accelerate and clear myself from oncoming traffic. This issue should be addressed by Ford before someone gets killed.

42 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2015

I was driving at 35 mph when my car jerked and lost all power. I had to coast off the road without any steering capability. A wrench symbol appeared indicating a problem with the awd or power train. I had the car towed to my mechanic who could not find a problem and my car stored no codes for diagnostics.

43 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

Vehicle completely lost power while driving 45 mph on busy 4 lane road with no shoulder. Yellow wrench lit up on dash and car completely and immediately shut down leaving me without the ability to steer and safely remove the vehicle off of the road (I was almost rear-ended and a car had to swerve to keep from hitting me). This happened twice in 8 hours. Car has been maintained, had fuel, new battery, etc. With no other warnings or indicators. This issue is very dangerous!.

44 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/23/2015

I was driving, at 40 miles per hour, on a city street. The yellow/gold indicator (a wrench) appeared. The car immediately lost power, going from 40 to 20 miles per hour. This happened in less than one minute. I pulled on to a side street, turned off the engine, and checked to owner's manual. It said :power train malfunction". The instructions said to stop driving and call roadside assistance. I did this. I called Ford roadside assistance and then called the dealership. I wanted to know if it was safe to turn on the car's air conditioning. I was told, "yes" this is safe. The tow arrived 65 minutes later and took the car directly to the dealership. After three days of going over the car, driving it, contacting Ford, the (Ford) dealership could not find the problem. I was told to drive the car and if this happened again, to bring the car directly to the dealership, and do not turn off the engine. How am I to drive the car when the car is in this condition? how can I drive on a city highway or an interstate, where the speed is high and have this happen again? how can I safely drive my grandchildren in this car? I called Ford, but of course they didn't know anything. I want the ceo mark fields and the executive chairman, william clay Ford, jr. To tell 1. Would you feel safe in this car; 2. How can you employee so many engineers (product development, etc. ) and not have solved this problem?.

45 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2015

While driving at highway speeds, a "awd off" message appears in the message center, accompanied by a wrench icon indicating a powertrain malfunction. The engine speed drops to a rough idle which is not affected by the accelerator pedal. The car then coasts to a stop. There is no loss of power steering or power brakes. Turning off and restarting the vehicle clears the error and makes the car operable again. This issue occurred on 9/11/2015 & 9/14/2015.

46 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2015

When driving the car, it just periodically lost acceleration ability. I was driving about 35-40 mph when it happened the first time. I then coasted into a parking lot off the road and shut off the car for a few minutes. At that time the wrench symbol came on the display referring me to my manual for further information, which told me that it was a powertrain problem and to contact a dealer for service. It then started fine and I was able to drive it for some time. The next day the same thing happened. I then had a few days of normal driving, and then it happened again but this time it seemed to just decelerate more rapidly (unable to coast to a stop), it just stopped but was still running. I then shut it off and then started it back up and drove it home where I left it until being able to get into a shop for service which was a week later. At the time of this problem, the powertrain warranty was available until June, 2016 or 60,000 miles. At this time the car had approximately 51,700 miles on it. Ultimately the problem was diagnosed as a bad throttle body which was not covered under the powertrain warranty and the cost of repair was $548. 14 at a local Ford dealership. This appears to be the same problem that the 2011 Ford escapes had for which the warranty was extended.

47 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the vehicle lost power. In addition, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The service vehicle soon warning light illuminated. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who was unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000. The VIN was unavailable. Oo.

48 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2015

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. While driving at approximately 35 mph, the power train warning light illuminated and the awd off message appeared. The engine then began to sputter and stalled. The contact maneuvered off the road and was able to restart the engine. The vehicle was towed to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

49 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2015

About 2-3 weeks ago, while driving in the outer banks, nc, I had a sudden loss of power in the vehicle and an yellow wrench sign came. Luckily, I was able to pull off the road and shut the car off. Once restarted, it worked ok. I went to cavalier Ford dealer at portsmouth, va and they could not find anything wrong. Since there was no recall or mention of this problem from Ford, I was told not to worry about it. Today, while driving with my wife and daughter, I had complete loss of power with the yellow wrench sign again. I had to pull on the wrong side of the road with hazard lights on. Again, we were lucky that we did not get hit. When restarted, I was able to drive back home and take my wife's car. I am taking the Ford Edge to the dealer again. I am letting you know that, when I googled for similar problems, there were plenty of complaints on this model vehicle. . Read more...

50 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2015

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Edge. While driving at an unknown speed, the awd and check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact was able to maneuver to the emergency lane. The contact shut off the vehicle and was able to restart the engine, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 33,800.

51 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2015

My wife was driving on a surface street with our infant boys in the back seat. Without warning, the 2011 Ford Edge lost all power and the engine vibrated intensely. It could have caused a serious collision. She restarted the car and tried to make it home safely and slowly. It happened again on the way. The next day (7/20/15), when we drove the SUV to the dealership, it happened a 3rd time. Galpin Ford (n hills, CA) diagnosed it with a faulty throttle body, not covered by our 7-year powertrain limited warranty. This is a certified preowned Ford Edge that we purchased a little over a year ago. Throttle bodies should not fail with 45k miles on the car. And, it should be covered by the warranty, or better yet. . . It should be a recall. The loss of power is a dangerous problem that Ford should take responsibility for.

52 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2015

Ford Edge suddenly lost power ( vehicle still running). No response from accelerator even though vehicle was still running. Had to roll to side of road (very unsafe). A warning light briefly came on showing ":awd off" and after a few seconds warning changed the "wrench" icon. This happened a second time just a few hours later. I scheduled appointment with dealer for the next day, and it happend again on the way to the dealer. Dealer ran codes, all passed and couldn't find issue. It happened again 10 miles after picking up from the dealer. Rescheduled for next day with dealer. Issue happened yet again on the way to the dealer. Once again dealer could not find issue or any error codes. In summary, it happened 5 times in less than 30 miles of driving. This vehicle is not safe to drive.

53 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2015

Vehicle lost power pulling out in traffic (so glad I didn’t get hit), would not accelerate and the yellow wrench appeared on the instrument panel. Only way to correct problem was to restart engine (this happened 3 times trying to get home). The third time the service engine soon light came on and I was able to pull the codes and had a p2111 and a p2112. After looking into this issue it looks really common why would they not recall it like the Ford fusion?.

54 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2015

Certified pre-owned 2011 Ford Edge limited awd. Purchased in Nov. 2014. On Monday, June 8, 2015 as I was driving at 55 mph, a light came on on the left hand side of the instrument panel. The light said "awd off" and had a little wrench symbol on it. The car abruptly lost power and I just coasted out of the way of traffic and onto the side of the road because there was no shoulder. I tried to press the gas pedal but nothing happened--there was no acceleration. My vehicle essentially "died" without warning in traffic. Weather conditions were sunny about 85 degrees. The radio and ac worked, but the gas pedal did not. The vehicle sounded like it was going to stall out and was sputtering as I coasted. I put the vehicle in "park" and turned the vehicle off. I waited several minutes and restarted the vehicle. Vehicle seemed to work ok and no warning lights came back on afterwards. I called the dealership and arranged for me to have my car inspected for the cause of this malfunction. I paid $111. 30 for the vehicle to be hooked to a diagnostic machine but the dealership was unable to get any "codes" from a diagnostic reading nor could the dealer replicate the warning light to come on. On June 24, 2015 the same issue happened again. I took a photo of the light on the dash, sent it to dealership. Third time happened on Friday, July 10, 2015 and I was on the highway in the passing lane and had to coast across the slow lane to get out of the way of traffic so I wouldn't cause an accident. Again, I took photos of the odometer and the "awd off" light and sent to dealership. Dealership sys without a code from diagnostic machine, they can't tell what is wrong. Fourth time happen last night, July 14, 2015. This is a huge issue as from researching on the internet, a lot of other Ford Edge owners experienced the same problem! please help! I feel like I'm getting no help!.

55 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2015

My wife and I were driving with our two young children (4-year-old, and six months) our 2011 Ford Edge and without any notice, the car jerked forward and we lost all power in the accelerator. Fortunately, I was able to pull off to the side of the road without getting in an accident, but was almost rear-ended by the car behind me. The power train wrench was flashing and said to consult the manual, so we did. Following the instructions, I shut the car off and restarted it. It took a lot longer to turn over, but it eventually did. We called our dealership and they said that I could bring the car in today (four days later). The Edge did this two more times over the weekend so I googled the issue and found this site. I printed off the first four pages of complaints and took it with me to the dealership. They wouldn't even look at it. They told me that "had to recreate the issue" or they wouldn't be able to do anything to fix it. They proposed that I let them keep the vehicle for five days and let them try it every day. Absolutely not. With all these documented issues and Ford being unwilling to do anything about it unless it happens to them, if they can't get it to happen today, we will be done with Ford forever. I'm highly disturbed by the amount of issues that are clearly documented here without any kind of recall or, at mimimum, guidance given to Ford techs about this issue.

56 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2015

6/4/2015 I was driving on the highway 70 mph and there was a slight jolt, the wrench light came on and I lost all acceleration. I was able to pull over and put it in park. I would press on the gas pedal and there was nothing. The car would idle very rough. After I would turn it off and back on I was able to drive it again. Spoke with the dealership and they said it could just be bad gas. They said unless another light comes on other than the wrench there would be nothing they can do in order to diagnose the problem. This would periodically happen every other day until this weekend it happened to me 14 times just this weekend. . . 3 of these times were this morning while driving 70 mph on my way to work. I was driving downhill and no accelerator and look in the mirror and there was an 18 wheeler behind me who jackknifed around my car since there was no shoulder to pull over on. This is a very very big problem! talked to the dealership this morning and they can't get me in for 4 days. They said regardless what the problem is, it would not be covered under warranty since there was no recalls. I'm finding this is a problem with many Ford Edges. . .

57 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2015

Our family was driving on a heavily traveled bridge at 40mph and the vehicle immediately lost all power and idled roughly, forcing us to travel on the bridge at just a few miles an hour with our four-way flashers on until we reached the side of the road. A wrench appeared on the computer screen with the message awd off. My husband turned the vehicle off and then back on and it ran fine until we drove it again and same thing happened. We are fearful for our safety and beg Ford to recall. I visited several websites and saw way too many consumers with this same serious safety issue. We are going to get it evaluated by a mechanic tomorrow and pray that we are able to safely drive it to the garage.

58 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2015

I was driving vehicle up a slight grade at 30mph. Engine power suddenly dropped to an idle rpm. It felt like it was running on 1 cylinder and very rough. I was able to "creep" the car to the side of road. Pressing on the accelerator in neutral or drive had no effect. A "wrench" warning icon appeared on the indicator panel. Shutting off and restarting the car allowed us to drive home. This occurred two times within 2 miles. The car will be taken to the dealer today for repairs. This same scenario (less than 270 miles prior) occurred as my wife accelerated away from our home 3 weeks prior. The owners manual indicated it was an awd issue. My car does not have that feature. The car was taken to the dealer who indicated it was a transmission problem covered by a service bulletin and reprogramed the transmission computer. Prior to these engine incidents the car had acted odd when shifting, as though it popped in and out of gear. This is a safety concern and so far we have been lucky because it happened each time in low traffic conditions.

59 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2015

I was driving and all of a sudden the vehicle started idling high and sputtering. Then the check engine light came on. The engine just shut off. Luckily there was no one behind me. I could have been rear-ended. This is third time this has happened. The first time it happened I took it to Ford and they said there was no code to tell them what was wrong with it. They replace the throttle body sensor and check engine light was gone, but a few hours later it came back on and it stalled on me again. I wasted a couple of hundred dollars to end up right back where I was before with a very unsafe vehicle. If I could afford to get another vehicle, I would. I am afraid to drive this vehicle. Something has to be done before someone is injured or killed.

60 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/23/2014

Throttle body keeps faulting out and loosing power to the vehicle acceleration. Causing me a lot of trouble and I am a single father trying to raise for kids. I am very upset with Ford right now!!.

61 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2014

While driving on the highway at 70 mph, the car suddenly jerked and quickly lost speed, and the wrench light came on. I attempted to press the gas pedal, however nothing reacted, the car wouldn't accelerate. After turning on the hazard lights, I was able to creep to the shoulder and on then onto the off-ramp where I restarted the car. Initially everything worked; I was able to accelerate, but shortly after the jerking/loss of speed happened again. After calling my husband to meet me where I was stranded, I called my insurance company to active roadside assistance. Our car was towed to a local Ford shop where they told us that our electronic fuel throttle failed and had to been replaced at just about $900 (plus the tow).

62 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2014

During driving my 2011 Ford Edge the engine stalled without warning. The stall occurred at an approximate driving speed of 30 mph in the middle of the roadway. A light depicting a wrench shown on the instrument cluster display along with a message to consult manual. At the time this happened, I turned off the car and restarted it to see if I could get it going again before I got hit by a car. The car did start and then drove normally. I looked in the manual and found the wrench icon to indicate a powertrain defect. Since this was a driving hazard, I had it towed to the dealer. The onboard computer was accessed and the code c-p2111 was diagnosed. I was told that this was a defective throttle body and that it would be replaced. A new part was installed and I have driven the car approximately 250 miles and it so far has not repeated the same stalling. It does not, however, maintain consistent rpms while idling. A couple of times they dipped down low enough that I thought the car was going to die at a traffic light. I took it back to the dealer and they said they could find nothing wrong. I disagree--I didn't have this problem prior to the installation of the throttle body. I am making this complaint because this issue is a severe problem that could cause someone to lose their life if the car stalled on the freeway. When it stalls, the car doesn't slowly coast along, it abruptly stops. This may be the same part that is in other Ford vehicles for which a recall has been made, but so far there has been no bulletin on the Ford Edge for the throttle body defect.

63 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2014

While driving down a busy 4 lane road in wilmington nc, the service powertrain engine light came one. At that point, there was no longer any power to the wheels of the vehicle. The only thing that could be done was to steer to the median and shut down the car. This created a very dangerous condition in which the driver was unable to actively continue safely to the side of the road. When the car was restarted, the error was cleared. No code was subsequently available to be pulled. At a later point, the code was pulled while, once again in limp mode on the side of the road. The code pulled was p2111. This error, when active, creates a very dangerous condition and should be addressed by Ford.

64 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2014

I was driving my vehicle up a slight grade at 40mph approximately 5pm on a Thursday. All of a sudden, the power to the engine abruptly came to a significant drop in speed. All the way down to 1mph. I pressed on the accelerator, and the engine had no response. The car kept moving forward, but only the max speed of 1mph. The engine was running/sounding rough and was slightly shaky. My vehicle appeared to be running normally all day and there were no prior warnings indicating the car needed to be taken to the dealer. As soon as the vehicle abruptly lost all that power, the little yellow wrench symbol (indicating powertrain/awd issues) appeared and the words no awd. I have never experienced this before. This is a huge safety concern and I was extremely lucky (as well as my two passengers) that this did not occur on a major highway or there was many cars right behind me. This very well could have resulted in a major crash!!! especially if I was going 65mph on our major highways with heaving traffic. Thankfully, I was less than . 5 miles from home and managed to get home without incident. I parked my vehicle in front of the house. I turned off the engine and waited a minute and restarted it. The engine seemed to run heavy at first, then idled down. I put it in drive and it moved forward and I drove it about 1-2 feet and put it in reverse. It seemed to be fine. I have not drove it since, nor will I until the matter is resolved. I am having it towed to the Ford dealership. I am not going to risk that happening again until the issue(s) are resolved.

65 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/28/2014

While driving down a local 4-lane road, the 2011 Ford Edge lost power, became unresponsive to the accelerator pedal, and the "wrench" symbol appeared on the instrument panel. The car would still move forward (perhaps 5 mph or less), and we were able get the flashers on and to park on a side road. The situation was very difficult as we had to cross a lane of traffic at low speed, where traffic normally moves at 40-50 mph. After looking in this data base and at other internet sources, this problem seems to be relatively common to the Ford Edge, but we have not received a recall letter about it.

66 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2014

My vehicle all of a sudden slowed down to a coast and would not accelerate. A yellow icon appeared and informed me that I needed to take the vehicle in to the dealer ASAP, there is a malfunction in the vehicle's awd system. I was able to pull over to the side of the road and turn of the car. The car then started and I was able to get home. When I brought the car over ot the dealership I got hit with a $1,000 bill, for the part (throttle box controller) $475, labor $120, re programming the computer $130, fuel injector cleaning $159 and oil change $75. My car is almost three years old and I take good care of it. It is not acceptable that an electrical component's part and labor replacement cost is $1000 in less than three years.

67 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2014

I was driving 25 miles per hour on a major roadway and for no reason the car lost acceleration. The engine began to shake and gasp. After I lost power to the engine I could only drive one mile an hour to try to get off the road in heavy traffic. I did not get in an accident but it could have easily happened. A yellow warning wrech icon appeared. I turned off the car. I restarted the car and the problem resolved. I took it to a repair shop and they cleaned the throttle body because no error codes were found and it was dirty. It happened again one week later when I was travelling 50 miles per hour. I tried to drive to a dealership to keep the wrench icon on but the car stalled. I restarted and the problem resolved but I continued to a Ford dealership. Once again there was no code. I have researched this on the internet and it is happening to others as well. This is very dangerous and I am lucky it did not cause an accident. This should be recalled and repaired by Ford.

68 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2014

I had just purchased my 2011 Ford Edge sel driving it for the first time after driving it home. I was driving on a two lane hwy when I lost power, a warning came up on the dash awd off with the little tool beside it. I had to coast off to the side of the road and thankfully there was a place to pull over. I waited a few minutes then restarted the car and it drove fine until 1 week later while I was driving on the interstate it did the exact same thing, the car shut down again. I did make it to the side of the road this time it did not want to start so I waited alittle longer and tried again and it did start back up. I pulled out and less than 1/2 mile down the road it shut down again. I managed to get it to the side of the road turned everything off restarted it again. All of this happened at night with just me and my son, we were scared to death . I did make it home that night. I called the dealership where I purchased the car and was told that they couldn't see me until 1 week and 2 days later. I took it to the dealerships service dept today and was told that they can't help me with my car since it is a Ford and they are a chevy dealer and I need to take it to their Ford dealership. I should have been told this before I drove an unsafe car 45 minuted down the road. After complaining to the salesman who sold me the car , they are going to take it to the Ford service dept for me (its 3hrs from my house) but that is not until next week. I am stuck with an unsafe car to drive that I just purchased and haven't even made the first payment .

69 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2014

Door ajar sensor appeared, took vehicle back to dealer, replaced door latch and door ajar icon disappeared. Automatic door latches are working properly; however, one week later, as I was driving a wrench icon appeared and my car lost power. Imagine the danger involved in driving and loosing power. Called the dealer, left the car again for another repair session. It is my understanding that the door ajar sensor has been very problematic for the Ford Edge model and there has not been a recall. Add my complaint to the list of many and hopefully something will be done for the consumer. I am disappointed because the vehicle still smells new and only has 40,200 miles on it but is already having problems. Acronym for Ford=fix or repair daily, and I sure hope not! Ford has another acronym, but I will not post it at this time. Trying to remain patient, but diligent.

70 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2014

When I accelerate from a stop position, or when I am approx. Only a few miles per hour the vehicle will jump and it will feel the vehicle jump and it feels like I am rear-ended. I asked my dealer about this and was told they never heard of it. It was all over the internet. Many, many owners had the same problem. I found TSB 11-5-6 and brought it with me to my dealer and had it fixed. Again, they never even heard of the TSB, which I do not believe because it seems like it is such a common problem. The vehicle seemed fine but started happening again. I emailed, and spoke on the phone, to the dearer and to Ford. They specified they would have to take the vehicle and see what is happening. I explained to them that it doesn't happen all the time, just like the last time. They said if they can reproduce it, they can't fix it. Plus I would be charged for it even though it has been an ongoing problem. There is no way for them to reproduce it at will, as it only happens about 1 time per month. When it does happen, it is very scary because it feels like someone hit you. I found TSB 13-3-18 which is another repair for the same problem. Ford told me it doesn't pertain to me. According the wording in the TSB, I am not so sure. Ford is fully aware of this problem. It is all over the internet. They should be obligated to fix it.
