Safety issue door ajar light not turning off when door is closed. Doors will not lock when car is in motion posing a safety threat to family. Battery has died multiple days times and replacement was necessary.
2012 Ford Edge, "drivers door ajar" message on constantly. Doors cannot be locked when vehicle started!! interior lights remain lit and battery drains! message says to "put car in park and close drivers door". Door closes without issue but drivers door ajar message does not go away. Suspect switch is bad in door. This can be a very dangerous situation if doors cannot be locked after starting vehicle!! could lead to carjacking theft or my wife and children being stranded if battery dies. This needs to be addressed immediately!!.
Driver's door latch is not registering as closed. Lights stay on, I cannot lock my doors. My battery dies if it is not "shut". A lot of money loss in batteries and time lost in standing in sometimes snow or rain for minutes trying to get it to register. Also, I have children and would prefer my child is unable to open their door while in motion. Purchased the car used in November 2015 and it started malfunctioning after a month. I find it shocking that there is not a recall on this. It is an obvious safety issue and very well known with dealerships and repair shops, but the fixing price is around $500.
The door ajar signal constantly stays on after I've already made sure the door was shut. This has happened multiple times in the last two weeks. My interior lights do not shut off until I've slammed the door about 5-6 times. It's really hard to tell if they've shut off in the daytime and so I'm fearful I may come out to my battery being dead. It also scares me to see it come on while I'm driving with my daughter as I'm unsure whether the door is properly latched. This needs to be a recall so that all drivers experiencing this issue can get this fixed immediately.
Door ajar sensor remains on even when door is shut. Doors do not lock when sensor is on. Interior lights stay on. Battery dies because lights do not turn off. All my doors are unlocked so it is very unsafe, someone could enter my vehicle while it is stopped. This happens everyday and cleaning the latch does not help.
Driver door and left rear door constantly says door ajar. Regardless how hard it is closed it still says door ajar. Wd40 or any other lubrucant or cleaner does not rectify the situation. This is when the vehicle is parked or in motion, with the key in or out of the ignition. Because of this the interior lights to not turn out, which causes the battery to go dead repeatedly. In addition to the dead battery the dome light will stay on while driving.
The panel shows driver door ajar all the time while driving the interior lights stay on after car has been locked for some time the lights go on even if the car has not been used for a while while the door ajar is on, the doors do not lock-safety issue, car in motion I tried getting the dealer I bought the car from to repair it, they stated that they could not because there was not recalls on my issues. But if I wanted it repaired it would cost me $350. 00 to change the sensor that may be causing the problem. I believe the dealer sold me a lemon. . . The door ajar comes up as I close the left door as I put the car in motion;the doors do not lock while the car is in motion; interior lights is when the car is parked; the lights go on when the car is parked in the garage. The battery has died a couple of times as a result of this.
