The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at 75 mph, the steering wheel became inoperable. The steering wheel failed to return to center. The steering assist, hill start assist, and the park assist warning lights were flashing. The contact stated that the failure was linked to NHTSA campaign number: 19v632000 (steering). The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where an unknown diagnosis was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 170,000.

2 Lane Keep Steering Assist problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2021

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving approximately 65-75 mph, the lane keep assist was veering vehicle into another lane. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer who stated that the failure may be due to the cpu being corrupt. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified however, no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.
