The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the driver's front door was opened and the contact noticed a popping sound. The contact's husband inspected and noticed that there were cracks within the door well where the check arm spot well connected. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, however the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under any unknown recall repair or special programs. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact was concerned about the failure, the contact stated that the four grandchildren are regular occupants of the vehicle. The contact stated that she was frightened that the doors would detach and fall off while the grandchildren were occupants of the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.
