Wheel Bolts problems of the 2018 Ford Edge

The contact's wife owns a 2018 Ford Edge. As the contact's wife pulled into their driveway, the contact heard an abnormal, hissing sound coming from the rear, passenger side tire. The contact used a set of pliers to remove a stone from the tire which caused the tire to deflate. As the contact attempted to replace the tire, the contact discovered that lug nuts on tire had swelled which prevented the lug nuts from being removed with a wrench. The contact called his son to stronger tools which they used to remove the lug nuts off the tire. After the contact placed the spare tire on the vehicle, it was taken to an independent mechanic where they acknowledged the lug nut failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The lug nuts on the other three tires were also tested and the contact experienced the same failure with all three tires. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to file a complaint. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure.
