The contact owns a 2024 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while attempting to close the rear hatch, she became aware that the door failed to latch securely. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was able to duplicate the failure but determined that the vehicle was operating as intended. The contact was informed that the hatch failed to close due to the vehicle being parked on an uneven surface. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 7,000.
