As I was backing out of my parking spot my car stalled out and died completely.
This is the 2nd time this has happened. This time I was attempting to make a u-turn in a loading dock on a busy street, and was going forward, to put the car into reverse to back up a little bit and the car shut off. Again there were no warnings on the dashboard, no sounds and no lights. This time there were cars coming toward me honking at me, and one in the loading dock trying to back up honking at me. I started it back up and backed up to continue where I was going. This is very unsafe. I took the car to my Ford dealership where they tested the throttle body and said that wasn't the problem. They also said they couldn't find anything wrong. What am I supposed to do if this cuts off in the middle of a busy intersection? someone needs to fix this!!!.
My daughter was driving back to school (7 hours) when she would go to accelerate, nothing would happen. She would have to try to move over to the right lane and then get to the shoulder. She would turn her car off and then on and it would let her accelerate again. She called me when it did this a second time. I did some research and figured out it was the throttle body. I called aaa and had her towed for two hours because I did not want her driving for fear she would lose control and hurt herself and others. She took it in to Ford and they confirmed after the diagnostic that it was the throttle body. She was not letting any work be done until she knew what it was. She was then told that it was a recall and free which is why she allowed the work to be done. Now they are saying that they came back and said that it is covered under extended warranty and that she has to pay for it. How is it that she has to pay for it? it is either covered by recall or covered by warranty so why does she pay for it? this is a major malfunction with these vehicles and is causing serious if not fatal harm.
So far. . 3 times now, I have been driving and my car has strongly surged forward and stalled! I was almost hit today while trying to put my car in neutral to re-start my car. Once the car was re-started it continued to surge forward quite violently. This is an epic safety hazard and needs to be resolved/addressed ASAP!!!.
The actualtrunk of the SUV does not open on a consistant basis, you have to use the lifegate if you want to put or take out anything out the trunk.
Going to work early (6:35am) Monday morning, driving around 35-40mph, when all of a suddenly I hear a big boom and the sound of something being splatter and hitting the back of my head. The next thing I know I feel a big gust of cold air in the car and when I look through my rear view mirror, I see that my rear lift gate window had just exploded. All this happen when I was driving. The back seat and the back of the SUV were covered with hundreds of pieces of glass. The two hydraulic bars that control the opening of the door along with the rear window wiper assembly were just hanging there. Needless to say it scared me to death. It was just a blessing that it wasn't raining nor snowing. I took it to my my dealership and was told that Ford is not responsible for the replacement and that I was responsible for all of the repairs/replacement necessary. Why me? is it not a flaw in the design somehow? after researching I see that it has happen to other people as well. Something needs to be done. Customers should be held responsible for these rear windows exploding, just because Ford decided to put the hydraulic bars on the window. Again something needs to be done.
I was getting ready to back into a my parking space, so I had just pulled into the parking lot (going forward) and came to almost a stop so I could put it into reverse and my car suddenly shut off. There were no warning lights on the dashboard, no sounds, nothing. Because it had never done this before and I had the car for almost 2 years, I thought I had done something to cause it. I started it back up and put it into reverse to back into the parking spot. It started just fine.
Engine died while making a right hand turn onto another street.
Made left hand turn from a stop sign, as accelerating, lost power. , put it in neutral started it again, put in gear, accelerated, approx 30 ft, did it again, I pulled over, called roadside assist, it was towed to dealership where I bought it, next day, they "said" it would cost me 104. 50(ish) to have it analized, I said ok, later they finally told me that it was the air intake module was clogged, this all cost me 184. 18. Tthey also said that I have an oil leak, and he was going to "try" to get it fixed on my drive train warranty, but didnt know at the time if he could, now the control arm is a different story, he said he didnt know if it would take care of this also, he would let me know. If not it will cost 452. 00 plus tax I do not understand, the vehicle is just now 2 yrs old and I can understand if I lived on bumpy gravel road or traveled on alot of bumpy gravel roads, but I do not, in fact 90% of the miles on my vehicle are highway miles, and I avoid bumpy gravel roads as much as possible, because I know they will eventually tear up a vehicle.
Vehicle cuts out while driving - no gas pressure - engine running, pedal to floor, no rev. , or excessive rev while driving. Advised by ase mechanic - throttle body needs replaced.
As per my vehicle report from the dealership: concern customer states drive belt coming apart. Cause: warranty correction: verify belt shredded. Found water pump locked up unable to remove debris from tensioner replace water pump tensioner belt. Test drive ok.
On the way to work at 7pm, the back hatch began randomly locking and unlocking and opened slightly. After work the next morning at 8am, the back hatch unlocked and opened while driving on a busy road at 10mph. I contacted airport Ford in florence, ky and they stated never hearing of this happening with another Escape.
It was approximately 9am and I had just exited the freeway (been driving for about 20 min) and I took a right off the exit ramp onto a secondary street. I was going about 40 and starting to slow down for a yellow light, when the car just died. No warning, no lights (that I remembered, because I panicked), no sounds. I was in the far left lane and so I immediately tried to start the car. Nothing. No sounds, nothing. I then turned on my flashers. Tried to start the car again, nothing. I waited about 3 min. And tried again and it started right up. It has not done it in the 2 days since, but I am now to scared to drive me car afraig that it will die and I will cause a car pile up. We have had the car in to Ford and they will do nothing.
Sunroof/moonroof of our 2012 Ford Escape exploded for no reason a year and a half after purchase. Luckily, we had the cover shut or it would've injured us and our small child. Ford didn't want to take responsibility for it, they wanted us to claim it on our car insurance. I had (and still have) plenty of pictures documenting that this happened from the inside out. Nothing crashed into the sunroof causing it to explode. It was obvious the sunroof exploded from the inside out; it looked like a volcano. Ford still refused to acknowledge the issue. This could've been a very dangerous sitation. Something needs to be done.
My vehicle was driving east on wildcat, turning north on lang road in portland, TX. My daughter was driving and had a yellow blinking arrow. The car traveling west on wildcat had a yellow solid light. When my daughter went to turn the other car appeared to speed up and hit her front on at a about 35 mph speed. The airbags did not deploy nor did the seatbelt lock in place. My daughter hit her head on the steering wheel and was taken to the er. She is ok, other than a few scraps and bruises, however I have a major concern that the car I am driving and she is driving is not safe. The vehicle is currently at the dealership waiting on repairs. I have contact Ford motor company to report and their legal department should be getting back with me. There is quite a bit of damage to the vehicle and needs roughly 6,500 in repairs. This needs to be addressed. Please call me to explain what I can do.
On 6 different occasions door latches have been replaced, I've been locked in and out of my vehicle, my husband is disable and I had to climb through the hatch back to get doors to open. I am afraid of this vehicle, if it catches fire will I get out? I feel this is a death trap and Ford is just soothing my feathers to keep me happy. Also, I was sold a 2012 4x4 vehicle, however my vehicle is not a 4x4. The dealership said they go by VIN, this one is wrong!.
As per my vehicle report from the dealership: concern c/s that battery light is on, please check and advise. Cause: verified concern. Found belt thrown. Also found and oil leak at the front cover via a dime sized hole in the cover. Correction: replaced front cover and vbelt. Also replaced motor mount that was stripped out. Verified repair. Battery light is off and no oil leaks at this time.
This morning I saw the cnn news ticker stating you are investigating the Ford f150's for eco-boost acceleration engine stalls. I have a 2012 Ford Escape and this very same thing has occurred to me 3 times. I can't remember the dates, but it has been within the last year, because I bought this vehice July 2012. I took the car to local dealership, explained my concern & was told "it was a defective computer software problem, software replaced. " I haven't had anymore more episodes of "stalling with acceleration" but it's very evident something is not right during acceleration. The vehicle seems to decelerate or sometimes "jerk" with acceleration. I'm conerned now that you are only investigating the f-150's & should broaden the scope of your investigation to include the Escapes or any vehicle with eco-boost.
The vehicle has lost power on 5 separate occasions while it was in motion. Twice on surface streets. Twice while entering a freeway on-ramp. Once while entering a driveway. The first incident occurred approximately November 8, 2012. The most recent incident occurred on July 16, 2014. The dealership (galpin Ford) has been contacted and the vehicle has been taken in for service for this issue several times. Ford finally acknowledged (approximately April 2014) that the issue could have been caused by a faulty "throttle body" and galpin Ford subsequently replaced the part. Approximately June 9, 2014, the vehicle was taken back to galpin Ford to "recalibrate" the "throttle body". This vehicle is unreliable, could cause serious bodily injury and an investigation should be opened to find a solution to the problem.
When driving (approx 30 mph), my vehicle suddenly lost acceleration. I coasted into a parking lot. Turned off vehicle and waited a moment. I then attempted to turn the vehicle back on and it started. I was able to drive to my local Ford dealer for repair. Today, nearly 3 months to the date later, I had the same problem. I was stopped at a light and was unable to accelerate when the light changed. Turning the vehicle off and turning it back on allowed me to get home.
