Everytime I drive the car and I don’t get no warming and I bring the car to the dealer and tell them what going on and dealer do and don’t tell me what going on. . I should be able to get another car free because they want me to keep pay thing out my pocket which I don’t have also want to let you know that [xxx] and I will like to explain more on phone [xxx] also the Ford dealership want me to trade in my car for 2,000 which my car is value7,000 because what three thing broken and they want 5600 it not right because I just have tht car right after my mother pass away and it only 2 years now information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Ford manufacturer and local gurley leep Ford dealership failed to provide a remedy to safety recall : manufacturer recall number25s76 NHTSA recall number25v467 in a reasonable timeframe. The local Ford dealership refused to provide a remedy, free of charge, in accordance with the NHTSA guidelines .
The sunshade panotramic panel cover that sperates the two roofs seems to be falling off due to cheap two side tape which caused the whole sunshade assembly and motor to break. I took my car to the dealer yeasterday anderson Ford based in Lincoln ne, and they cahrged $119 to diagnis and qouted me over $2000 to fix it. This is manufacturere fault that caused this to happed by using cheap, unreliable two side tape to attach panel cover!. Please address this as alot of Ford Escape owners suffer from this issue.
Car stalled soon after start up showing many faults in the system. Initially thinking it was the battery with cold weather I took it to the dealership and had them look at it/replace the battery. The next day it stalled again the exact same way. I read the codes that it was showing and it came back with p061a u1011 and u1028. Was able to get it to another dealership to look at it and they performed computer updates and resets. I picked it up from the dealership and it died again a mile down the road with the same issue. They were able to get it back to the dealership where it died on them again. They have not been able to identify the issue but are wanting me to come pick up the car. The car is unsafe to drive as it can randomly shut off in the middle of the road with no warning and not even the dealership can identify the issue after multiple attempts. This is very concerning as it is a relatively new car and still under warranty. Even though it is under warranty, they claim they can not fix the issue under warranty until they prove a failing part.
The retractable panoramic sunroof cover snapped out of it's clips while I was driving and the shade fell over my head. After reading about this online, numerous consumers have had this exact problem.
The car has indicated that it was getting hot, vehicle had tossed out some smoke, which raised our concerns due to the recall and there being no remedy.
The sunroof shade curtain will not roll away when I try to open the roof shade. It crumbles up at the back or just doesn't roll up with the track. I have read several online Ford forums and a lot of people have been complaining about this issue. Could someone please look into this and see if this is a manufacturing problem, thank you.
This vehicle! it eats so much gas. Something is wrong. It makes a weird noise and puts itself into modes of sports, ice/snow, eco, slippery all by itself while I am driving. My rpms will change and car makes a different sound and it is in a different driving mode without being put in it by me. It puts itself in auto mode and shuts off at red lights and starts back up when I put on the gas and this is not a hybrid.
My Ford Escape has an open recall on the fuel injectors. I took my car in once because there was a smell of fumes when using my a/c. When I mentioned the fuel injectors to the dealership, they said they would look at it. The dealership said they couldn't get the smell, but once they popped the hood, they could smell the gas. They fixed them then. Now there is a recall on the recall on the fuel injectors. My car has the smell of fumes again. I think the fumes are making me sick, I can't even use my a/c or heater some days. I can't be driving around with the fumes for my sake or my 2-year old daughter. It can't be safe for her to be in my car.
The shade on the moonroof came off track and would hang down obscuring rear view from mirror. Vehicle taken to Ford dealer for repair. After $1600 repair, three days later the shade would not close completely and returned to Ford dealer. Still waiting on repair.
The display screen goes black and freezes for long periods and during navigation use; reverse camera is black or doesn't display; Fordpass doesn't connect.
Lots of owners on facebook page 2020/2021 Ford Escape discussions talk about our transmissions fluttering when driving straight you can see rpm’s going from one to under one back in a straight road some have had the transitions go out. I took mine to Ford at 111000 miles and was told I need to pay $500 to change fluid did that and still doing it they said everything was fine but I should look into a extended warranty because they have had a lot of issues with the transition (was told that by auto nation Ford in corpus christi TX? we all even have issues with rear differential going out.
There was a clunking sound when I opened the sun roof. Later when we closed the sun shade, it seems to be hesitating. The next time we opened the sun shade, it seems to be catching. As I drove there was a sliding sound that we finally identified as coming from the sunroof. Something could be seen from the sunshade: an outline of something that continued to slide around in all directions. I looked it up on the internet, concerned about what it could be and discovered that there have been 2021 Escapes with the panoramic sunroof that have a manufacturing defect resulting in poor adhesion of the fixed glass panel and/or front panel to the roof frame. There was a warning that the roof panel or front panel could detach from the vehicle while driving. Detachment could result in injury or death to road users. It can also lead to water leaks and wind noise which it links to the drip rails. I am concerned that this item sliding around is going to tear the headliner and fall on me or a passenger and am not sure it is a drip rail.
The sunshade rolled in after the cross bar of the panoramic sunroom fell on the sunshade. My dealer is quoting me $1500 to repair the sunshade and no other mechanics will even touch it. My car is a 2021 Ford Escape sel. Its is a very gently used car and it is terrible that this is happening. It has impacted me financially in a big way and am struggling to find a way to pay for it. I have only had my car for 1 year. Please make Ford do a recall so others do not have to go through this too. Thank you!.
A plastic trim piece in the sunroof fell onto the shade. When the shade was opened it caused the shade to be disconnected from the open/close mechanism and roll back onto its spring loaded roller. The dealer quoted $1800 to fix it. Not cover by Ford or endurance warranty.
Sun roof screen stoped retracting properly causes the cloth to bunch up and at times distract the view when looking in rear view mirror06.
Front driver door welds not holding and causing door to not shut properly.
This complaint is not about the fuel injector. It is about door hinges, customer service program 23b56. I have been trying to get lithia Ford of roseburg, or to fix it for 10 months and they will not. The door hinge makes a loud popping noise and I am afraid it will come off soon. I received a recall notice shortly after I purchased the car from another dealer. Lithia is the only Ford dealership in our town. They are not following through with any promises they make me. The other nearest dealership is 70 miles away. I am [xxx] old and don’t feel comfortable driving that far when we have a dealership in town 10 minutes from my home. What can I do to make them fix it? I would appreciate any help you can provide me. Thank you. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
1. The sunroof/moonroof overhead fabric lining fell off the tracks when moving back, yes. 2. My safety was put at risk from the lining falling off the tracks and nearly completely covering my eyes and face while driving, which also puts the safety of others at risk. 3. I have heard numerous people and Ford technicians noting that this is a common issue of the sunroof/moonroofs with other similar models. 4. It was completely inspected before financing at a dealership. 5. No prior symptoms or lights, I just tried to use my moonroof while driving on the highway a week ago and was nearly blinded.
My vehicle failed inspection due to a failed emissions test due to the on-board diagnostic not being able to communicate. I was unaware of this issue prior to the inspection. When I brought my car to the dealership, they said the gateway module needed to be updated in order to respond to the emissions test. There is a customer satisfaction program (22n15) that I believe my car should be covered under as I am experiencing the exact same issue listed in the program. My VIN is not attached as of now but wanted to make you aware of the issue I am having.
From the Ford website: "power window switch chrome tip replacement campaign/NHTSA# 22n17 issue date 2023-05-16" the tips peeled off and I get cuts on my fingers. Ford dealership, golf mill Ford in niles IL, informed me this is a VIN specific issue and I needed to file this claim. Please advise.
The liner for the panoramic sunroof has come off the tracks on the sides so the liner hangs down into the car and obstructs the view.
A/c drain hose clogging results in driver side and passenger side floorboards flooded. Water dripping on feet when driving and making turns after a/c drain gets clogged or heatshield drain hole not properly aligned with drain hose. Also a/c drain hose not long enough to drain out at the appropriate spot. Official procedures to correct the problem is to remove underside heatshields and add a hose extension to the a/c drain hose to allow drainage at correct location. My shoes and feet are soaked anytime I drive the vehicle after having the a/c on. Cannot use a/c until drain hose is unclogged/extended which is a simple procedure on other vehicles except this one.
Parked car in garage on Saturday like normally done for 3+ years. Next thing, car is completely unresponsive. Will not start, honk doesnt work, no lights nothing. If this happened in the middle of the road (and it has happened to other drivers), its a safety issue. Tried jump starting, nothing works.
Transmission has failed.
The sunroof headliner will not retract and sags down into the rear view, making it difficult to see out the back of the car.
Driver door makes loud noise opening - know issue spot weld issues . Window won’t work this needs to be a recall.
There was a safety recall on my car for the door hinges. I ended up getting a new door that had to be painted. The shop has had to repaint it 6 times due to faulty work. Also was denied getting to. Go. To another repair shop.
I have to keep pressing the gas handle to put gas in my car because the damn carbon sensor shit thingy is broke. Also the door keeps clicking and tiktok says it’s going to fly off. Now that’s just dangerous. The clicky thingy is from something that is welded into the door keeps coming off of the car. Now that’s fucked.
My drivers door was making strange noises and not staying open. Took it to a Ford dealer. They assessed it needed to be replaced as others are having the same issue. When I got my car back, now I can’t roll my window down except for a few inches. Safety issue! I’ve been waiting at least 4 months for a new door. The passenger side is to be fixed also because faulty parts were used when it was manufactured. Absolutely no word from the dealer when this will be repaired.
I noticed the door opening hard and making noise. Car parked at home, no accidents or dents. The door hinge weld has come disconnected. Tech confirmed on 4/10/2024. Car is still under factory warranty with 33,719 miles. Tech picked up car and brought back with no fix. Tech verified concern, returned vehicle with note Ford advance notice for the concern. And when consumer gets the recall notice they will contact me to fix it. In the meantime my warranty is nearly expired and they would not repair it.
I am unsure of the exact part but it is located in the driver side door. The car was stationary when the problem was noticed. My husband walked out to go to work and noticed that the door had started having issues. It makes a popping sound as the door opens and closes as well as the window no longer opens or closes. The door also doesn't open more than half way anymore, nor does it stay open. That has become a safety concern with our small children. The door is also starting to have issues closing all the way once it is attempted to shut the door. We tried contacting Ford and they know that there is an issue but told us that we have to deal with it or pay full price to fix the issue since there isn't an official recall on the part yet. They wouldn't even make an appointment to confirm which part was the issue. When we took it to kia, which is the deal we bought the vehicle from, they see in their system that it is a part that has a recall and to take it to Ford for a whole door replacement. Yet Ford refuses to help us until we have proof of letter that this part has caused an issue.
Front windshield is prone to crack. I have had to replace 5 windshields since I first purchased the vehicle. It is a known documented issue. Assuming aerodynamics is the issue and can cause more than the reasonable amount of cracked windshields. Valve body and transmission went out at 100,243 miles. All requested/required regular maintenance was completed.
Door welds were recalled and doors to replace have been on back order for months. My drivers side window now does not properly go up and down. Door pops when opened or closed and will not stay open if needed. My drivers side window also now has a scratch. I’m tired of waiting for a repair and still having to pay for a vehicle that is falling apart and nothing being done about it.
The door hinge welds came un done on the front drivers door owned car for less than 2 years bought brand new.
Driver side door check bracket, makes cracking , crunching noise feels /sounds like it is ready to fall off.
The spot welds on the front drivers door of my 2021 Ford Escape sel gave way. The internal three welds holding the drivers door check arm failed. The door is now making a creaking and grinding noise when the door is opened and closed. The drivers door check arm is rapidly nearing total failure. Two Ford dealerships have verified the above. Repair cost to replace the entire drivers door is approximately $2,300.
My 2021 Ford Escape door started to make popping sounds and my window wouldn’t roll down had it a dealer and they said the welds on my door broke off !.
My drivers door hinge weld has broke. Ford is telling me I have to fix it but there has been many reports of this. I believe it should be fixed by Ford.
My drivers side door was squeaking and then started popping. The other day it made a loud pop and now I can hardly open and close the door. My window will also not go up and down. So I have read there are many Escapes with this problem and it is a known problem.
The drivers door check arm spot welds failed. Ref - pe23013.
Door weld is broken in drivers door. Extended warranty with easycare will not cover it. It is a known issue with this vehicle. How do we get it fixed, without spending out of pocket to fix Ford's issue.
Driver side door creaks and sticks. Door does not open completely. Incident where front driver window would not open at atm.
Driver side door check assembly weld broken.
Ford is not recalling their Ford Escape and broncos. I tired to get my state inspection done at two places for my 2021 Ford Escape and was told that they can not connect to the system due to faulty programs from Ford. I was told to go to Ford and they wanted ti charge me $199. 99 to update the faulty software. They said it is a known problem and Ford isn’t/hasn’t recalled it.
The driver side door started popping when opening and closing door. After a couple days it got stuck and wouldn’t fully close. When I did fully close the door the check arm disconnected. The window will not move much since check arm broke. I have not had this inspected at a dealership but plan to. The only light that comes on is a door ajar light comes on occasionally and I have to shut door again.
I was just sent a report on the issues with the door of the 2021 Ford Escape. I live in dallas TX. I purchased my Ford Escape in 2021 and in the past month I have had so many issues until I don't know where to start. One is currently the door issue; I heard a pop then a knocking, then a grinding then the door would not close. I was told the bracket needs to be replaced and that I would have to pay for the repairs. Because of what is happening with the door I can't let my window down because it either goes back up slowly or will go down when I am pushing for it to go up, or it will not go back up at all. I've been fighting with the dealership they are saying I will have to pay for the repairs. I filed a complaint with customer relations but was not given a claim number but was told they might or might not respond back.
Recall has yet to be repaired despite it being recalled for 7 months and a remedy was supposed to be available two months ago.
I have called the place where I’ve bought my car several times to see if they could get the recall fixed yet, they keep saying they do not currently have the parts yet but I have read where the parts should now be available. I have been waiting several months for this issue to be fixed.
A sample owner letter is not available online for NHTSA-id 22v191.
* I was about to park in my drive way on 6/7/2022 when the vehicle suddenly accelerated by itself, breaking my closed garage door, destroyed every garden equipment and everything else found on its passage in the garage and entered my granddaughter's bedroom causing major structural damages to the house. * my son had just left the garage and could have been run over and myself severely injured if all the equipment and the bedroom wall did not stop the car. * unfortunately, the dealership minimized the problem because they did not see the damages, only the superficial scratch of the car , it has been inspected by all parties , no warning signs of sensors warned this major accident at all that day. *I told Ford that I am scared to drive the car after that accident and they do not seem to care and claim it is a lease car and because they found nothing wrong with him. They cannot do anything about it. Far, the first estimate from the homeowners insurance found damages that are over $35,000 - 40,000 dollars and are still sending other expects to check the structural damages of the house and that does not include the loss of the equipment and other goods destroyed. *I was told that they found nothing wrong with the car and I am positive something major happened that day that could have killed me, has it not been those equipment and also injured my 35 year old son and my 10 year granddaughter has she been in her closet.
My vehicle 2021 Ford Escape caught fire.
When I back up my car makes a squealing/groaning noise. I was told my Ford it has nothing to do with the brakes and it’s safe to drive. Every time I back up it makes this noise whether when my foot is on or off the brake. It’s very frustrating that there isn’t apparently a fix for it.
I was driving down the road and the car stated to stall. I noticed white smoke in my review mirror. I started to pull over and I got a warning message that said I had zero oil pressure and the engine shut down. I costed off the road into a pull off. When we got out of the car there was a fire in the engine compartment. As we were out in the middle of no where it took the local voulunteer fire depart 25 minutes to respond. In that time the car was a total loss. I did not hit anything in the road and I was drive around 60 mph at the time this started.
My time time has almost caused me to pass various stop signs and red lights as well as rear end vehicles in front of me who stop abruptly due to increase traffic in my area for summer. The brakes also squeak terribly. I need this repaired ASAP before I cause an accident and Ford still has yet to provide the parts to complete the repairs and this is my only vehicle. I have had the vehicle less then a year.
I bought my 2021 Ford Escape in June 2021 new. Shortly after I bought it, I started to hear a really loud screeching sound, very similar to a train coming to a screeching halt, whenever I reversed my car. I brought it into an illinois Ford dealership and they said nothing was wrong with it. Shortly thereafter, I received a notice in the mail about a warranty for the back brakes. Thinking that I solved my issue, I brought my car into a different dealership in michigan and had them fix the brake pads. To my dismay and frustration, the brakes still made the terrible sound. I asked the folks why it was still making that sound and they said it was normal. A car backing up should never make that sound. Not only is it terrible sounding but it seems like a major safety concern. The michigan dealership said that the brakes can make a squealing noise anytime their is condensation on the brake pads, mainly due to the fact that the brakes/brake pads have some sort of metal material in them. I decided to move up the food chain and call the corporate Ford office but they couldn’t help me either. Which brought me to filing a formal complaint and seeing what you all can do to help me out. There are several folks out their on the internet that are having the same loud squealing noise as me and are being told it is “nothing wrong. ” but a normal car should not be making those sounds. Please let me know if you can assist.
Brakes failed and vehicle was totaled.
It was a four month old car. I was driving and the engine coolant light came on. I traveled an additional 1/4 of a mile and another driver pulled up next to me and said that my car was on fire. I pulled off to the side of the road, and within about a minute, the entire car was engulfed in flames. I was fortunate to get out of the vehicle uninjured, and I promptly notified the deal of what had happened.
While driving on the interstate a fire started under the hood and shortly after smoke entered the driver cabin. Luckily I was able to pull over and get out of the vehicle before the fire reached the driver cabin. It is going to be investigated by a company hired by aaa, the appraiser from the insurance company was not able to find a cause due to the fire damage being too bad. The first warning message was engine coolant overtemperature and a couple of others followed.
Stopped in the middle of three lanes at a red light, when light turned green car, which is a hybrid did not power back up. I could not accelerate. Message on dashboard was stop now with red triangle symbol. I was on a state highway in heavy traffic. 55 mph speed limit. Going about 8 mph with flashers on I eventually got to right side of road. Car was then locked into park. , would start but immediately received same message. Vehicle has 130 miles on it. Was towed to dealer.
Stopped at a red light on 3 lane highway, in middle lane. When light turned green, I tried to accelerate as usual, but the car (hybrid) would not go. Message on dashboard was "stop safely now". Car was coasting about 5 mph. I was able to get barely off the road. I could turn the car on/off but could not get out of park and continued to receive this message. This vehicle is new, purchased less than a month ago now has 140 miles. Had to be towed to dealership. Since this occurred I have found a recall on a few other Escape hybrids with the same issue. Recall 21s31. The diagnostics of the car indicate same situation occurred on 11/29 but must have self-corrected.
We have a 2021 Ford Escape hybrid purchased from corwin Ford in reno, nv. That when driven at high speed the front hood vibrates and the hood makes a very loud flutter sound. I have informed the salesperson finn orwig of this situation over the last 7-8 months. His service department tightened the hood rubber closing stops to no avail. I went online and plugged in 2021 Ford Escape hood noise and was directed to several online Ford forums where many others are stating the same issue. (see reddit & Ford Escape hood troubles). I continued to contact corwin Ford customer relationship center of this issue and filed a complaint on October, 16, 2021. I never heard back until I reached back to them on February, 23,2022. Peyton gave me an address to send a letter. Dissatisfied that I could not speak to a representative who I could discuss issue with. So I then set up a meeting to drive with a rep from corwin so they could witness the issue first hand. Before this meeting I sent a letter dated April 11, 22 to both corwin Ford and Ford customer relations center. Then on mon. , April 25,22, president of corwin took drive in vehicle and he agreed with issue but said he could do nothing that it’s a Ford manufacturer issue(talk about customer service). Once again called Ford customer service who verified they received my letter and was assured I’d get a return call back. I’m concerned with such dynamic pressures that hood may fail and cause an accident besides the absurd noise. My next move is to take it to different dealership since still under warranty. I believe it’s a aero dynamic manufacturer defect. Other owners have same issues. Hood is component. Besides noise & vibration hood failure is concern. Vibration & noise confirmed by corwin Ford president justin russell. Corwin Ford looked at hood and just adjusted hood latch bumpers. I’m planning a visit different Ford dealership. No warning indicator. Issue started as soon s I purchased vehicle on first day. Help.
