Equipment problem #1

Just after 36 month warranty expired, ceiling sunscreen came off track hanging down into car obstructing view through rear view mirror.

Equipment problem #2

Fabric cover of sunroof got detached from rails, so it rolls the fabric to the back of the vehicle leaving the clips hanging and no way to get the sunroof cover reattached.

Equipment problem #3

The bar came loose on my panaromic sunroof the shade has fell back and is off track. My car is a 2022 Ford Escape. I only had my car for two years. I was driving and heard the raddling nose while driving. The two sided adhesive came loose. I shouldn't have to pay for this.

Equipment problem #4

The hvac evaporator condensate drain tube fails to drain externally, leaking water into the cabin. This saturates interior carpets, padding, wiring, and hvac housing, causing extensive mold growth—a biohazard creating respiratory/infection risks. Severe since November 2025. Linked to Ford TSB 20-2358 (oct 2020). Insurance declared total loss due to health/safety hazard. Husband has autoimmune muscle disease—mold exposure dangerous. Ford rav denied twice (latest Feb 20, 2026, case cxh-06581343). This is a known latent design flaw Ford was aware of before my car was built—breaching implied warranty as the vehicle isn’t fit for safe use.

Equipment problem #5

Panoramic sun roof shade came loose and dropped down. Ford dealer wants $1400 - 1700 to fix it. I purchased Ford premium extended warranty for $3500. Warranty claim denied because they claim it was made of fabric which is not covered. What a scam. I contacted warranty myself and they informed me they can only cover if it was mechanical or electrical failure. I feel it is mechanical in nature. I've read a lot of complaints about Escape sun shade failures. This should be a recall issue due to safety concerns from falling shades.

Equipment problem #6

Water in the cab. Found online a few others have posted about clogged ac drip line. By the time you find it, your carpet is ruined. Have not been able to locate the drip line.

Equipment problem #7

The panoramic sunroof drip molding will not stay attached. When it falls, it can rip the sunshade causing it to hang down from the roof and block the drivers rear vision. The glue pads that are provided with the molding does not last long and it causes the molding to rattle with every bump as it starts failing. The ripped sunscreen has not happened to my car, but the molding piece does keep falling off. . . No matter what type of adhesive I use!.

Equipment problem #8

Sunroof sunshade snagged on a plastic plate that is attached to the underside of the roof, between the sunroof and the panoramic glass over the back seat. It is a cosmetic element. The plastic plate is held to the roof with pins and double stick adhesive pads. The adhesive on the pads failed causing the plastic plate to drop away from the roof, held by the plastic pins. On closing the sunroof the returning sunshade again engaged with the plastic plate dislodging it. Sunshade retaining clip on the passenger side, completely snapped off from the travel bar when it engaged the poorly attached plastic plate and the sunshade disengaged from the motor track and snapped into the slot at the back of the roof. Sunshade can no longer be engaged. Service rep at the Ford dealer told me it should be covered by warranty, when I showed him the broken parts. On return to the dealer, Ford service claims it is not covered by warranty.

Equipment problem #9

The guard plate between the sunroof and the moonroof fell off and the retractable screen rolled all the way back and is inoperable. The guard plate fell and hit my child while I was driving. When I searched the internet to see if others have experienced this issue, I discovered that it is a known issue with these vehicles. Unsecured falling parts is a danger and a recall should be issued to fix this issue immediately.

Equipment problem #10

While driving, the metal crossbar trim above my head separating the front (movable) and rear (fixed) roof glass fell off, jamming the sunshade and then falling on my head.

Equipment problem #11

The rearview backup camera no longer functions at all. Upon putting the car in reverse, I receive a black screen with glitching colors for a few seconds that turns completely black and gives me an error stating rearview camera is unavailable. There has been no damage recently to the vehicle or any other modifications made, or no other known contributing events, it just stopped working on its own. I also received no warning prior to this happening from any systems in the vehicle. This is especially dangerous since I rely upon this camera and alert sensors to safely back up and avoid damage to my vehicle, myself, others, and surrounding objects. I am aware that several Ford models built the same year have an active recall for this exact issue, in addition to the 2023-2024 Escape models. I would highly recommend looking into this issue as it pertains to the 2022 Escape as well.

Equipment problem #12

All vehicles screens including the speedometer turned off multiple times while driving. When screen came back online a large number of warning lights popped up including that there was a shift system fault. The light showing that the vehicle was in drive was no longer lit up. Immediately stopped vehicle. The electrical system on the vehicle has failed at least 5 times previously with several documented instances of going to the dealer for repairs with no solutions.

Equipment problem #13

The 2022 Ford Escape has an optional "panoramic vista view" sunroof with shade. This is a very large/long shade. A bar breaks in the sunroof mechanism that falls down onto the shade. This part could intrude into the cabin. The results are sagging and "bunching up" as the sunroof shade unfurls down onto rear passengers, including infants, children.

Equipment problem #14

Rear drip molding hinge cover. It's an exterior covering. I noticed mine was missing after getting other recalls serviced. I ordered a replacement part, however, my research proved this is common. Apparently the hinge cap is only attached by velcro. This could cause a serious car accident if the part were to fly off into someone else's windshield. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Equipment problem #15

Sunshade for the panorama broke for the second time. The first failure was covered under Ford TSB 22-2278 and this has since failed again under Ford TSB 23-2139. If this sunshade failure where to happen while driving, the shade might sag and visually impaire the driver.

Equipment problem #16

The entire panel and screen goes off and on countless times when driving. Cannot see speed or anything when panel shuts off. Makes it even more dangerous at night. It is also very distracting. The problem has been confirmed by Ford and dealer. They still can’t fix it. They have had our car for almost 2 months with no resolution. It started first with screen powering off and on countless times and then the entire panel. I have been told so many different times things. I have requested documentation and they will not provide me with anything other than vague emails with no answers. I was told several things: wrong part installed by Ford, severe wiring issue, wrong program possibly installed when trying to resolve the issue. The car was even pulling to the right and left but they said that had nothing to do with panel but just a dirty sensor, which I don’t know if I believe or not. They also stated the first issue had nothing to do with the recall even though it sounds and appears very similar. Me not being a mechanic, they can tell me anything. What I have not been told is what the problem is and we do not feel safe taking the car back but Ford is offering us nothing other than empty, vague answers. Any help you can provide would be so helpful and appreciated! text from phone so please forgive any errors. Thank you!.

Equipment problem #17

In January 2024 vehicle check engine light came on and took to autozone to check error code. It came back as a vapor canister purge valve. There are strong smells of gasoline, or rotten eggs. Vehicle has 52k miles and mpg has decreased as well last week. Reaching out to Ford dealer but currently have received no recalls.

Equipment problem #18

Slippery drive mode was on. Ev mode was on. Was driving slowly up a snowy driveway, the car lost traction and the car became completely inoperable and immobilized, including: - car could not be turned off or on via start stop button - car could not shift out of park - car could not change drive modes - car could not change out of ev mode it was completely inoperable and impossible to move out of harm's way or shut down so it just sat there and drained the battery. Fortunately, an auto-shutdown sequence occurred when the battery was low which automatically turned off the car after manual attempts failed. Only after the car auto-shutdown could I start the car again and move it out of park to get out of harm's way. There was no collision or impact. The car never left the asphalt. After it restarted, I could drive the vehicle with seemingly no impairment. It spit out >20 codes, all of which are attached in a dtc report.

Equipment problem #19

I entered the driver seat of my 2022 Ford Escape se and closed the drivers door. I pushed in the brake and pushed the button to start the engine. Immediately the rear passenger side window rolled down without me activating the switch. I then could not roll the window back up. I turned off the car and started it again and tried the switch to roll it up but it didn’t work. I left the car running, exited the driver seat and walked around to the rear passenger door to activate the switch but the window would not roll up. I confirmed the child safety lock on the rear windows were not activated. I contacted the dealership and was told this is an issue that the regularly have people bring their vehicles in for.

Equipment problem #20

I don't do much interstate/expressway driving but after an 80 mile trip yesterday, my ears last night had tinnitus hiss and it continues today, the sound inside the car was a continuous loud medium high-pitched sound. This vehicle's engine is noisy as you pick up speed but not unacceptable. This sound was eminating from the road and amplified through the vehicle chassis and interior driving chamber and easily cancelled out any noise coming from the engine compartment. This sound was high enough that a horn or siren could be canceled out unless right on a tight perimeter of the car.

Equipment problem #21

I have a 2022 Ford Escape ecoboost I was going the freeway so put it on faster drive , push button it started to go then at maybe about 35 mph it jerked us all back and fourth my car gear went from drive to neutral and car lost power on the freeway ! I had my 12 years old nephew with me and my 77 years old mom who was jerked back and fourth ! thank god for seatbelts ! I don’t know what to do called Ford and have to take care in to see what could have caused this problem ! I hate the dealership I go to !and need to find a place that’s honest about what’s happening ! had to pull over and try to come off freeway . I live in CA , u dont get a police report unless there is a major accident or major hurt , cops don’t come for these kind of things . And it just happened again for the 2nd time , 1st time it happened about 1 year into owning the car , I thought maybe I did something wrong ! but now I know I didn’t , told Ford before but nothing was done about it.

Equipment problem #22

It leaks or consumes excess amounts of coolant. I’ve had to refill it twice now. I know this is weird with a newer car with only 23,000 miles.

Equipment problem #23

My panoramic sunroof cracked with no signs of impact at all and once I open the car the sunroof exploded apart.

Equipment problem #24

I want to know why there has been no remedy for the 23v380 recall. A remedy was anticipated in October 2023. Also, I got notice of a new recall Ford campaign #23e09 regarding reprogramming the pcm for emissions. When I enter 23e09 on your web site it takes me to the 23v380 recall. Are they related? either way Ford is still saying there is no remedy yet for either.

Equipment problem #25

When parked and shut off the car rolled backwards about 6 inches when the door was opened. This happens when returning to the parked car and the door is opened from the outside. It has happened twice. It also happened once when being unplugged from the level 1 charging unit. The dealer was unhelpful, based on the infrequent nature of the incident and inability to reproduce it.

Equipment problem #26

The fire risk in the engine compartment recall has been issued for this vehicle since may 2023. The remedy is supposed to be available by oct 2023. Yet at my recent visit to the dealer for the recall repair in Dec 2023 revealed that no remedy is available. The owner of this vehicle is forced to operate the vehicle with the risk of catastrophic engine failure and subsequent fire. It is a major safety concern.

Equipment problem #27

There is an open recall on my car that can fail the engine and also it poses a risk of fire and Ford said that remedy will be available by October 2023. No remedy is available yet.

Equipment problem #28

The middle hinge of front door has broke off inside the door and has my window “pinched” and no longer able to be rolled up or down. Occasionally the rod that is broken off will prevent me from closing my door all the way and will come unhinged going down the road. Was 500 miles over warranty (took me a few days to bring it in due to getting a day off approved) and Ford says it’s $2500 to fix their safety flaw.

Equipment problem #29

I have a foot operated lift gate and I constantly have to find the exact spot for it to open. Twice it lifted and while I was putting groceries in the back it came back down on me. The first time in smacked the back of my head and left a big knot. The second time it caught my shoulder and then I was able to get out of the way. I thought if the lift gate touched something coming down that it would go back up. It is a 2022 and does not even have 3000 miles on it. No I have not contacted the dealer. I have been extremely ill and it slipped my mind. Thank you very much for a quick reply.

Equipment problem #30

Issue 1: car is currently @ dealership for recall 23e09 emissions. Dealership is currently unable to resolve error codes and reset, they believe due to a bad battery, car has less than 15k on it. They are obtaining a new battery. This recall has net even made it into your database yet. Issue 2: the more concerning issue, safety recall notice 23s27 / NHTSA recall dated may 26, 2023, of which we were notified of in June 2023 still has not been resolved. After several attempts to obtain information from the dealership and Ford itself we have not been able to determine if or when a repair may be approved. This is very concerning because of the nature of the recall and the potential for harm to any passengers. This is the third recall since our purchase, the first recall # 22s47 (under the hood fire) was supposedly corrected by the dealership on 01/26/22. I hope you agree the safety recall (23s27) is of utmost importance based on the devastating potential it has. I do not believe I'm being unreasonable by expecting a resolution to this issue in a timely manor, we are are just over 3 months away from a year since the recall was issued.

Equipment problem #31

I had recalls and problems since I first got the car SUV Ford Escape 2022 I never had so many issues within 1 month I had to go back from some issues they had to fix see attached documents I SUV stalled on virginia route 28 luckly it was on the exit lane that I was able to stop and restart my engine I reported this to Ford dealership they supposedly fixed it but I am scared since I feel the problems are going to cost me in the long run I asked the dealership for an exchange they denied me I feel this is not fair I don't need a barely 1 year old SUV Ford to have more problems on year 2 and 3 please help.

Equipment problem #32

I have had issues with my car since the day that I bought it. First, my car squealed every time that I backed up. I took it to my local Ford dealership 3 or 4 times without this ever being fixed. This then progressed to my brakes squealing anytime they’re used. I barely have 25,000 miles on my car. Additionally, I have had numerous occasions where my car will get stuck and not shift, not accelerate which is extremely scary when merging into traffic, the rpm’s will jump between 3,000 and 5,000 and stay there while I cannot accelerate or shift. The vehicle has had episodes of shaking while I am driving, and now there is a grinding sound when driving for unknown reasons. My car has also sounded like there is a hole in the exhaust, although there isn’t. I’m not sure what’s causing the noise. Now I have come to find out that there are two active recalls on my car; one for the pcm control module (NHTSA recall number: 25v-467, Ford recall number: 24s55), and the sync/ display software update (NHTSA recall number: 26v-123, Ford recall number: 25s06) which is a lesser concern. I called the dealer that I bought my car from and they can’t service my car for the pcm control module via an appointment until 4/24/26 (over a month from now when I don’t feel safe driving my vehicle). They said that I can drop my car off before 4/24 for about a week, but that they can’t provide a loaner. I can’t be without a vehicle. Per Ford there are not parts for a permanent remedy anyway, and this is only a temporary fix as it is, which I don’t have confidence in. That’s ridiculous because the recall came out 7/2025. It’s been almost a year. They also told me that the sync software update is only a customer satisfaction, not a recall, so they won’t fix it, which is incorrect. I called Ford customer satisfaction and was also denied a loaner car. The only option that I was given was the possibility of a buyback program, which didn’t sound promising. I’m stuck in a car that I don’t feel safe in.

Equipment problem #33

I have been without my new car since January 10, 2023 due to a design flaw in the Ford Escape plug in hybrid. Their inadequate undercarriage protection Ford is putting their owners at financial risk, and costing federal and state taxpayers for a flawed product. Ford Escape plug in hybrid undercarriage protection is not made of a durable material. You have maybe expected plastic or metal in the past. Now it is a fabric material that I call “fordboard”, that tears and leaves the highly sensitive electronic and the hybrid battery open for damage. This happened to me in the January 2023 storms in southern California. I have been without my new car for two months because, not only is the undercarriage not durable, but Ford refuses to divert replacement batteries for repair but continues to make the new cars so they can continue to make a profit with the help of federal and state tax dollars. I was counting on gas savings with the electric vehicle in order to help pay for the car payment. I now have to pay full gas prices as well as the car payment. I bought the car because our family needed to expand our vehicles. I spent extra on this car to help reduce my carbon emissions. There are now more carbon emissions because of this which is contrary to why there are tax credits. Ford is gathering huge profits as a result of the changes to the tax credits, they are one of a handful of cars that are eligible. If they can’t fix damaged cars, then the tax credits aren’t helping. Ford refuses to warranty the situation. Ford refuses to pay for a loaner or rental car. Ford rejected my requests for financial assistance. I request help to do the following: 1)I want Ford to divert a battery assembly from the new car manufacturing to my car so I can have my car. 2)I want Ford to replace the “fordboard” undercarriage on my car with something more durable so I don’t have to worry about this ever again.

Equipment problem #34

I was sold the 2022 Escape by clement Ford in ofallon mo. It was brand new with open safety recalll till this day they have not informed me of this safety recall purchased 12/3/2022 today is 2/7/2023 no letter nothing.

Equipment problem #35

The SUV when driving about 45 mph and go to place the brakes the car shakes and when you back up it is a real loud high shril sound took it to Ford and they wont return the car I can not take anymore I am tired I have had problems since I first purchase the Ford SUV I am disgusted fuel injections transmission back breaks problems I want to return the car please contact me [xxx] [xxx] note: they supposedly fixed the problems but there is still fuel injection leakages and transmissions and back brake assistance problems still to this day Ford has not fixed the problems and allowing me to drive on the road with a unsafe car and endangering others/children on the road back in 2020 there was a recall on this car and the dealership apparently did not fix the problems sold me this car 2022 July bad brakes, transmissions, fuel injections problems and seat belts for child are bad the car shakes one example in July 2023 the car suddenly stopped and shut off luckily I was slowing down at a red light I expressed this to the Ford dealership in falls church va and they just shrugged me off information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Equipment problem #36

The rear hatch opens by itself. The gas door does the same thing. Keller bros. Ford has had the car twice for a few days and can’t find the problem.
