One problem related to side/rear glass has been reported for the 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The rear window of my 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid shattered for no apparent reason while I was driving it this morning. I was traveling on a paved road doing approximately 70 kms/hour. I did not hit anything nor were temperatures extreme. The sound was like a rifle going off and glass shattered everywhere.
