Car Stall problems of the 1997 Ford Escort

1 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2008

The contact owns a 1997 Ford Escort. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle began to shake vigorously and stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic for diagnostic. The mechanic stated that the engine would have to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred twice. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

2 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2004

Upon turning the vehicle on it stalled . Tried starting it again and it blew up, burning completely to the back seat of the vehicle. There were no warnings or indications.

3 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2000

Gas gauge doesn't show the correct amount of gas once it reaches 1/4 of a tank. The vehicle also stalls on highways. The anti-theft alarm goes on for unknown reason. The horn malrunctions too.

4 Car Stall problem

Failure Date: 04/21/1997

Vehicle would stall out at different speeds. Almost rearended because of stalling unexpectedly. Had vehicle towed back to dealer. Was informed could not find problem for stalling, even had vehicle test driven. Air conditioner blew hot air, dealer repaired wiring assembly. Tires experienced wear, consumer did not give specific tire information. Engine light illuminated and vehicle was hard to restart, vehicle also lost power and dealer has not been able to resolve the problem.
