One problem related to hood latch has been reported for the 1998 Ford Escort. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While traveling at 69mph hood attempted to pop & was caught by a secondary latch. Consumer was unable to close latch, and it would not release by pulling cable. But could pull it up by hand. Dealer will repair hood at consumer's cost & deductible.
