1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2018

Tl the contact owned a 2000 Ford Excursion. While driving, the contact noticed smoke coming from the front driver's side floorboard. The driver was not aware of any warning indicators illuminated. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road where it caught fire and burst into flames. The fire department extinguished the fire. The vehicle was not driveable and was towed to the driver's residence. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The driver believed the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 09v399000 (vehicle speed control); however, she never received a notification. The failure mileage was unknown.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/16/2010

Tl- the contact owns a 2000 Ford Excursion. While coming to a stop sign driving approximately 10 mph the vehicle engine stalled as he engaged the brake. He tried to restart the vehicle and it would not restart. He pushed the vehicle off the road and notice that fire was coming from under the hood. The contact had water in the vehicle and put the fire out. The vehicle was towed to an authorized Ford dealer. The vehicle was at the dealer at the time of the report. He referenced recall NHTSA campaign id number: 09v399000, vehicle speed control. The failure and current mileage was 267,500. Vwb.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2010

2000 Ford Excursion recall was never done. Allan vigil Ford in clayton county GA disconnected my airbag, horn, and cruise control. They stated that a part was on order to complete the recall. We checked up on this over and over and over, the part was always "on order". This part was never installed/replaced on my car and the three things that were disconnected were never re-connected. Yet, they reported it as competed. This was 2010 I believe. Ford shows this recall as "complete", however it is not. We called allan vigil Ford recently, however no one will return our calls.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/31/2006

: the contact stated the vehicle caught fire while parked in a parking lot at a university. The fire department was contacted and extinguished the fire. The fire occurred in the engine compartment and the fire department determined the fire was electrical. There was no warning prior to the fire. The vehicle was parked for two hours prior to the fire. A police and fire report were taken. The contact had pictures of the incident available. There was NHTSA recall #05v388000 (Ford recall #05s28) regarding vehicle speed control. The vehicle was not included in the recall due to the VIN.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2005

Consumer was driving when the brake and turning signal inadvertently went out. When taken vehicle to dealer for service it was determined that the failure was due to vehicle speed control malfunctioning.
