In addition, the trunk lid would not open when the key fob or trunk control release mechanism were engaged. In order to exit the vehicle, the contact had to manually unlock each door. Also, the trunk lid only opened when manually accessed with a key. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 75,000. The contact owns a 2004 Ford Excursion. The contact stated that all the vehicle doors failed to lock properly. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer confirmed that the door lock actuators failed. The contact also stated that while refueling, the fuel spilled to the ground. The vehicle was taken to the private mechanic to address the failure. The mechanic confirmed that the filler pipe was rusted and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000 and the current mileage was 176,167.

Have 2000 Ford Excursion. I had the door lock actuators replaced in 2003. Since then I now have 2 door locks and the rear tailgate that will not lock electronically. Seems as though the electrical system is going out one thing at a time.

2000 Ford Excursion XLT 7. 3l diesel. Four door lock motors failed after approximately 75,000 miles. Doors did not lock or unlock with use of electric door lock switches located on front door handles. Replaced all door lock motors at ase certifed technician shop, fairbanks, alaska. Old parts are available.

I have a 2000 Ford Excursion and all my door locks do not work. It tries to lock and unlock them, but it does not have enough power or something. I have talked to other owners that have the same problem. I was just wondering why there hasnt beena recall if there are many people with the same problem.

Door lock actuators on driver's door, and rear passenger door do not work. Must manually open and lock doors daily.
