Engine Stall problems of the 1999 Ford Expedition

Two problems related to engine stall have been reported for the 1999 Ford Expedition. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Engine Stall problem

1999 Ford Expedition with the 5. 4l triton engine blew out a factory installed original spark plug causing a engine fire. This seems to be common among this particular engine. Ford will not acknowledge a defect in the design, but online research concludes this problem is widespread and very dangerous. Ford should be compelled to recall these engines and repair or replace the engine at no cost to the customer.

2 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2004

Engine tends to stall, and unable to start when it rains. Occasionally, engine turns on and off on its own. Consumer will contact manufacturer.
