1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2022

My vehicle will just shut off. No warning. No lights. It shuts off, I have to turn on my hazards, put it in park and restart the vehicle. It has shut off whether I am going forward/straight or turning, going 25 mph - 40 mph. It has shut off as I am turning and cars are coming down the street; at a school zone; under an under pass; one time we were on the freeway and it kept wanting to shut off but had to really press on the gas to keep it going and thankfully we made it to the service center. Sometimes it feels like the gas peddle is pushing my foot back. You press on the gas and nothing happens. Other times it seems to accelerate on its own. I have had this happen multiple times since we bought the vehicle in may of 2022. , sometimes 4 or 5 times in a day. I have taken it to two different service places and neither could replicate the problem. One mechanic told me he thinks it could be the body control module. I take my niece and nephews to and from school and it certainly does not feel safe, but it is my only working vehicle and it is aggravating and I am getting tired and frustrated of this happening. Please help.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2020

A/c compressor clutch and pulley seperated a/c compressor seized up serpentine belt got damaged from the seize. Truck would stall and lose power at stop lights and intersections because it was seizing and taking energy from the battery and truck. Was told it was a cam sensor the whole time it was the a/c compressor pulley and cluth that disconnected and fell off while driving. Scariest thinng ever in my life. And the fact I cant get a a/c bypass pulley for this year of this truck im basically screwed because its a middle of a pandemic my children are in remote learning from home for school I cant work because of that I cant there for I dont have the money to buy a new a/c compressor and serpentine belt or get them installed. Thanks Ford merry christmas.

Ok. . . I have had my truck for 3 years or so and recently the ac went out. . . I had everything replaced with brand new parts. . . & the ac still won't work. . . Machine says the freon is full. . . But blows so hot good think you have the heater on. . . I have tried everything to fix it. . . And when I called the dealership I was told. . . Several other Fords same year were having the same issue. . . But there isn't a solution yet. . . So they couldn't help me fix the problem. . .

On several of the aluminum panels there is bubbling paint at the edges of the panels.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/14/2015

On 04/14/2015 my friend our 2010 Ford Expedition el limited in the driveway and went into the house. Approximately 2 hours later she heard the alarm go off and went outside to investigate. The car had dark tints on the windows but the car looked darker than normal then she realized she couldn’t see in the car because it was full of black smoke. A few seconds later she saw a spark coming from the middle section of the dash board then all the windows blew out at once and the car burst into flames. She called 911 and the fire department managed to keep the fire from spreading to my house and my neighbor’s house. The fire was so hot it melted the frames of my windows and scorched the siding on that side of the house. The tree, bushes , grass and liriope on that side of the house caught on fire and there is glass all over my yard. The car was completely destroyed. I understand that Ford has had similar fires in the past with earlier models. Apparently they have not fixed all of the problems. The car was working well until the day it caught on fire. The arson investigator said that it looked like it might have started in the navigation system. Now I am reading that Ford has had problems with a “defective cruise control switch that has caused trucks to go up in flames” similar to how my Expedition was destroyed. I also read that Ford Expeditions as well as other Ford trucks have had a “possible defect in the speed control deactivation switch”. The article stated that, “some switches could leak. Because the switch has electrical power at all times, the leaking fluid could ignite and cause a fire, even when the vehicle is unattended”. Regardless of how it happened the truck obviously had a defect. I have photographs and my neighbors have video of the fire.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2014

Bubbling of paint located centrally on tailgate in several locations around metal edge and around license plate, is apparently not covered under warranties or purchased $3500 extended warranty coverage either. . . Nice Ford!.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2014

Compressor failed and sent metal shavings throughout entire system. This requires replacement of compressor, receiver dryer, and expansion modules. These parts are on a national back order from form, which indicates this is a massive problem with the vehicle.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2014

Transmisin problem bery noise when driving and press gas. Sometimes when is parked it moves like 12" . Ac always a problem toke to mecanic at lease 10 times I'm so tired if this.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/24/2013

Paint is blistering on the hood and rear tailgate, which are made of aluminum. Ford won't cover this under their corrision warranty unless there is perforation thru to the sheet metal. By the time this occurs the warranty is up and the paint is falling off the vehicle.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2011

There was no incidents that led up to the event. Was driving down the road and went to apply the brakes when the vehicle began to vibrate and hesitated in stoppoing. Had the vehicle in the shop on March 14, 2011 and the psds and brakes system was at 100%. Then took thr vehicle back into the shop on March 24, 2011. After the vehicle was hard t get stopped and vibrated. Upon inspection the brake pads had crystalized and melted the rotors. There was no warning that the brake system was failing. I own a 2010 Ford Expedition el. This is the 2nd 2010 Ford Expedition el that I have owned with problems. Ford motor company's stance is that they are replacing the brake pads and rotors under warranty, however they can not tell me what caused this, and they are not willing to get an engineer involved. I have went as far as I can with customer service reagrding this safety issue.
