Air Brake Wheel Speed Sensor problem

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, the rpm's increased rapidly, and he became aware that the vehicle had downshifted on its own, prompting him to pull to the shoulder of the roadway. After restarting the vehicle, it returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the speed sensor. The vehicle was not repaired.
