1 Rear Suspension Shock Absorber problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2020

Our 2014 Ford Expedition has defective shock absorbers which leak oil. On 4/21/17, with 21,132 miles on the odometer, the Ford dealer replaced the left front shock absorber, which was leaking oil, under warranty. On 11/17/17 the Ford dealer, with 27,000 miles on the odometer, replaced the right front and right rear shock absorbers which were both leaking oil. This was done because the vehicle did not pass virginia safety inspection and was also done under warranty. Now, on 4/30/20 with 49,851 miles on the odometer, the right rear shock absorber, which was replaced by the Ford dealer at 27,000 miles, is leaking oil. Since the vehicle is no longer under warranty, a local garage is replacing the right rear shock absorber. The Ford motorcraft shock absorbers used on this model vehicle are obviously defective. This vehicle has always been used highway use only and never for any off-road use.
