The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
Receiving front camera malfunction service required warning. Also receiving pre-collision assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency break system warnings. Other systems likely disabled. Found that there was a TSB issued for the same year but on the f-150. Dtc's c1001:31, u3000:89, u3000:49. This issue is likely caused by faulty cable connections where condensation has caused corrosion making the system inoperable thus creating a major safety issue for owners. I took the Expedition to sawgrass Ford in sunrise FL and they confirmed that the issue was due to the electronics/cables. The camera itself was not dirty or blocked. They charged me $250 for a diagnostic and then wanted to charge me $2500+. For the safety and security of all owners please investigate and hold Ford accountable for this.
B&o radio amplifier exploded causing a sharp ear piercing static sound. This caused severe driver distraction and potential fire risk.
1) the fuel delivery system is affected — specifically, a faulty fuel pump which may fail and cause engine stalling while driving. This issue is under Ford safety recall 25s75 (NHTSA 25v-455). The vehicle is still in my possession and available for inspection upon request. 2) the recall clearly states that the vehicle can stall unexpectedly while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. On a recent highway trip ([xxx]), my Expedition began shaking at high speeds, and continued shaking while parked, indicating worsening fuel system issues. I have three young children (ages [xxx] , [xxx] , and [xxx] ) who regularly ride in the vehicle. Being told to continue driving under these conditions with no available fix has placed my entire family and others on the road at risk. 3) has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? not yet. When I called Ford customer service to report the issue and request a safe alternative, I was told there was no further action available and that I should continue driving the vehicle. I was referred to my local Ford dealership, who also said they could not take any action until a remedy is issued. 4) has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no. Because Ford has no remedy available, they have not performed any inspection or offered assistance. The dealership confirmed they cannot inspect or service the vehicle related to this recall until Ford issues a fix. 5) were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? there were no warning lights or error messages, during a return trip from texas [xxx] the vehicle began shaking noticeably at highway speeds, and continued shaking heavily while in park. These symptoms had never occurred before, and they align with the type of failure described in the recall notice. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The audio system has become inoperable and instead the speakers are blasting static noise with crackling and popping sounds at high volume. Cannot stop it or use any other audio. Very unsafe to drive due to extreme noise level and lack of controls. Appears many people have this issue and there needs to be a recall to fix.
My vehicle doesn’t alert me of incoming vehicles and the reverse camera stays on. When I turn on my vehicle the dash stays on with Ford sign so when I put on reverse my back up camera doesn’t turn on at all. I have to use all my mirrors to back out of parking. This feature hasn’t been working properly for a year. They keep telling me Ford is working to fix this issue.
While driving the vehicle, the stereo system suddenly without warning started an unbearable loud and deafening noise. I was driving on a busy highway and was able to the the next exit. I had 2 other occupants in the vehicle. We had to exit the vehicle because the noise level from the speaker was painful and caused disorientation. I turned the vehicle off but the noise continued for at least 10 minutes then stopped. Myself and the 2 other occupants still have ear pain 24 hours later.
Rear defrost coils have continually fallen off. Dealer fixed one in February of 2024. It fell off March 2024. They are both hanging there. Dealer won’t touch it - says rear window needs replacement. I’ve researched on Ford Expedition forum and many Expeditions have a similar issue. Especially with dealer not covering it.
All of the advanced drivers assistance systems are not functional. Ford is aware of problem and the fix is continuing to be delayed--over 1 year now. Vehicle has been to dealership multiple times without solution.

Alternator failed suddenly. Caused loss of power to all components while driving.
Since purchasing this vehicle in January of 2023, it has been to the dealer three times to repair a failed blind spot monitoring system and rear cross traffic alert system due to corroded pins in the connectors of the sensors. According to the dealer, this is due to the connector utilizing only four of eight pins which leaves four pins unused and open to corrosion. On the third trip in, the dealer applied, "super glue" to try and prevent any future corrosion. While there was not a specific accident related to this, I do believe this has the potential to cause issues in the future if not properly addressed by Ford. See attached pdf from dealer for additional supporting information.
For the fourth time our brand new Ford Expedition has had a issue with the sync radio b&o sound system. It initially started out where the 15. 5 inch screen locked up and no radio, bluetooth would work and couldn’t even control climate. The dealer got to see this first hand and had no interest in investigating. Now the last three times has been a horrifying pop and extremely loud static and popping like fire works inside the car. Two of the three times luckily my wife wasn’t driving. The most recent time this happened as we were driving down the road and thankfully no car was in the opposite lane as it caused me to jump and swerve because I though we had been hit. This could have ended very badly under the wrong timing and especially with my 4 year old and infant in the car which they also started screaming because it was ear piercing. After a little investigation I have come to see this is no new issue with the Ford sync b&o sound system. Some people have stated the dealers complimentary changed the amplifiers and seemed to have solved the problem. Sadly the two dealers in my area will not even look into it unless the problem is currently occurring. The bad part is that the next time it does occur could be detrimental to the life of my wife and kids!.
The contact owns 2022 Chevrolet Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and activating the turn signals, the turn signals would temporarily blink excessively fast, which indicated a turn signal failure. The vehicle was taken to an unknown local dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. No service was performed. Additionally, the contact stated that while the adaptive cruise control mode was activated, the vehicle accelerated unintendedly and nearly hit a pedestrian. The contact stated that he had not engaged the resume button at the time of the failure. The contact also stated that while reversing, the rearview camera was inoperable. The cause of the failures were not determined. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 6,000.
We started to notice some body issues -rear side fenders popping out, the front grill popping out,, the inside screen would go blank, fuel tank lid pops open. As if this was not enough - we then encountered more issues - sunroof was falling on our heads, the step up railing is falling apart. . . . Wait- there's more - paint coming off the hood. . . And to top it all off - there is a cracking noise thru the inside. We cannot control the noise. We lose all function and use of controls (radio, climate, etc. ).
I just had the same issue described in the forum listed below. Extremely loud max volume screeching static through the speakers. Tried turning the car off and on several times, tried turning the radio off, tried switching to serius xm radio, nothing would make it stop and it was completely unsafe to drive it like that. It was too loud to hear anything else over it and it was so jarring. I now have a headache and I’m nervous to drive it for fear of it happening again. My husband had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop. I have a video but it doesn’t seem like I can upload it here, only pics. . Read more...
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the infotainment screen would go blank without warning; in some instances, the vehicle would also shut off once the screen went blank. The contact also stated that the vehicle's adaptive driving system feature would independently active; this would cause the vehicle to jerk out of its current lane and the contact would temporary control of the vehicle. In addition, the contact stated that the vehicle would independently surge forward upon depression of the brake pedal without warning while in either reverse(r) or drive(d). The vehicle was taken to the dealer on multiple occasions; the parts to repair the vehicle were all on backorder. The contact filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
