Crossed intersection & applied brakes to slow down. Vehicle failed to slow down. Used emergency brakes & vehicle kept going. Finally shifted into park & vehicle stopped. Towed vehicle to home. Noticed thick hem of carpeting had moved over accelerator pedal.
