Conventional Parking Brake problems of the 1997 Ford Explorer

Two problems related to conventional parking brake have been reported for the 1997 Ford Explorer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Conventional Parking Brake problem

Failure Date: 12/12/1997

While driving at 45 mph, applied brakes, and they went straight to the floorboard. Also, emergency brake didn't work at all, and consumer is having problems with the drive train.

2 Conventional Parking Brake problem

Emergency parking brake doesn't engage when pushing all the way to the floor. The brakes are hard, but will slip out. Dealership has been notified.
