The blend actuator door is stuck in the open position which means that I can't set the temperature in the passenger compartment to a comfortable level. After searching this problem on the internet it's apparent to me and others that this has got to be a defect based on the number of complaints.

4 Engine Cooling System problem

Failure Date: 05/05/1999

With only 15,614 miles on my 1998 Explorer, the entire cooling system failed. The dealership had to install a new radiator, clutch fan assembly, water pump gasket, and thermostat assembly.

5 Engine Cooling System problem

Vehicle stalls, loses power when accelerating from full stop, especially when hot. 5 times at dealer w/ no solution. Dealer computer indicates nothing wrong. Loss of power could result in collision in heavy traffic.
