One problem related to tailgate hinge has been reported for the 1999 Ford Explorer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer had lifted tailgate. While consumer was standing underneath tailgate it fell down, hitting consumer on the head. Both hydraulic hinges were leaking oil. Vehicle had not been inspected by dealer.
