Brake Fluid Leak problems of the 2013 Ford Explorer

1 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 03/17/2020

Fully marked police patrol vehicle lost hydraulic brakes and brake pedal went to the floor. Inspected and found right front brake line ruptured inside of protective sleeve causing brake fluid to leak out and hydraulic brakes to stop working. This is the 4th one we have had in a short amount of time. 1st on 5/15/2018, second on 1/15/2020, third on 2/10/2020, and now 4th on 3/17/2020. .

2 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2020

Fully marked police patrol vehicle lost hydraulic brakes and brake pedal went to the floor. Inspected and found right front brake line ruptured inside of protective sleeve causing brake fluid to leak out and hydraulic brakes to stop working. This is the 3rd one we have had in a short amount of time. 1st on 5/15/2018, second on 1/15/2020, and third on 2/10/2020. So far the vehicles involved are 2013 police interceptor utilities. All have build dates between 4/19/2012 and 6/19/2012.

3 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2020

Vehicle lost hydraulic brakes. Found right front brake line ruptured inside of protective sleeve causing brake fluid to leak out and hydraulic brakes to stop working.
