Ford is taking appointments for recall replacement of orignal recall part but then when you show up to dealership being told no idea when parts will be in due to covid , recall notice said this is safety issue but we are told to keep coming back next year; should not they tell us prior to taking off work and coming in that recall notice is joke and plans are not until next year to potentially fix? Ford corp was just as useless as far as being proactive and when this can be fixed. It should not be job to police Ford to see when parts are in and not sure why you did notice if can not be repaired, recall notice 20v-675. I understand covid delays but as essential worker who will be driving this car to work every day seems a crazy way to run recall. If in crash at least I am on record to all of you.
~tl-the contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact was a car dealer who had just purchased the vehicle and was driving at 35 mph. The left rear toe link suddenly snapped. The vehicle slide sideways until the contact was able to straighten out the sterring wheel and safely pull over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independnet mechanic and the left rear tire was pointed outward. The right rear toe link had almost split as well. The manufacturer said a recall repair was done on the toe links last year but they refused to repair it again. The failure mileage was 95,446. Tf.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 20v675000 (suspension) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact called the local dealer and midway Ford (2777 snelling Ave n, roseville, mn 55113:(651) 636-8200) and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
October 30, 2020, Ford issued a recall, 20s62, NHTSA recall 20v675. I have had the recommended inspection completed. However, as of March 7, 2022 (17 months later) Ford says the replacement parts are not available and they don't know when they will be available.
While driving in wet conditions with the automatic cruise control enabled the vehicle pulls to the sides. Fords response is that the brand new winter tires are causing the slipping.

Popping/knocking noise when turning at low speed, gradually get getting more severe over time. In addition there have been instances where the car has not turned as the steering wheel is moved. Ford garage has diagnosed this as a steering rack and pinion unit problem. With on 40k unacceptable early failure of this component with a $3,000 repair cost.
Without hitting potholes or barely even driving the car due to corona. Now the axel decides to give up. Driving to an appointment I went to turn into the parking lot and huge crackling sound came from the driver side axle. Online it says it seems to be a very common problem.
Rear tow link snapped while wife was driving on interstate at 70 mph, lost control, fishtailed across traffic lanes before regaining control and pulling over. Wife was scared to death. Had towed to Ford service center. Told it was a recall issue, repaired free of charge. Repaired and picked up the car. Two days after repair, 7 year old grandson and I were driving 65 mph on hwy when rear tow link snapped again, lost control, fishtailed across traffic lanes before regaining control and pulling to side of highway. Grandson and I were terrified. Towed to Ford service center, repaired toe link and replaced rear tie rods. Told the tie rods where so wore out that vehicle was unsafe to drive. No mention of tie rod issue from previous service center. Picked up car after all repairs completed. Four days after picking up vehicle, rear toe link snapped, while same 7 yr old grandson and I were driving north on interstate at 75 mph. Lost control, fishtailed across busy traffic lanes, crossed the median and hit reflector post on the edge of the southbound lane before regaining control narrowly missing on coming traffic. Reflector post hit an oncoming car causing damage to the drivers door and side mirror. Grandson and I are in shock, scared to death as we almost hit a car head on. Car towed to same Ford service center for repair. When we went check on car was told by the staff that he would give me the keys very hesitantly because he felt the vehicle was unsafe to drive. Did not take car because we are terrified to drive it as we have almost died while driving on three separate occasions. All within 400 miles of driving. Have yet to take possession of vehicle. We are now stuck with a vehicle, and a loan, that we are too afraid to drive. I've had to see my therapist to discuss the level of stress, anxiety and fear. Grandson will not get in a car alone with me as he is to afraid.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 10 mph, she had attempted to make a left turn and lost complete control of the power steering as the traction control warning message appeared on the instrument panel. The contact had the vehicle towed to kia of duluth (1701 w michigan st, duluth, mn 55806) where the contact was informed that the vehicle was subjected to a recall. The vehicle was then transferred to northstar Ford (1420 miller trunk hwy, duluth, mn 55811) and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not subjected to a recall and that the vehicle would have to be repaired out of pocket. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact linked his failure to NHTSA campaign number: 19v435000 (suspension) however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
Driving at 20mph over a bridge, my toe link snapped, causing me to lose control and veer off the road losing control. I lost complete control over my steering and tires remained turned, losing all control and ability to drive. The toe link was serviced because there was a recall. However, this was the second time the toe link was fixed on this vehicle. Now, only months after purchasing this vehicle, there is another issue regarding the toe link and bushings. Ford and dealership refuse to cover the charges because recall has already been serviced. My concern is that the problem will be fixed temporarily for a fourth time and will snap as I am going faster speeds than the 20 mph I initially lost control at. There needs to be another recall on my already recalled part, otherwise there will never be any safe driving distance in this vehicle.
Rear toe link - rear suspension may have weld crack at bushing housing attached to the frame -no incident yet.
Started hearing popping sound on passengers side when backing and turning and now it has advanced to steering feels like it catches or binds for a second while driving down road.
There was a recall on my 2015 Ford Explorer for the toe link suspension replacement. I had ot fixed on 1/7/20 and on 2/14/20 I was driving on 106 in springfield vermont doing 50 miles per hour and the toe link suspension they replaced broke and I lost total control of my SUV. All most had head on collision I was almost killed. I had it towed to Ford dealership and they took it apart again and stated that the reason the toe link suspension continues to break is due to the nuckle and bushings. And Ford corporation said it was not covered and there for I was responsible for the repairs and total cost. Which is $2,411 I do not have that kind of money. My SUV is still at Ford dealership. Need help resolving this issue and get my SUV fixed as it is there cause of the breakage. Please tell people not to drive there vehicle if there toe link suspension is bad cause when it goes you have no control of your steering. And you never know when its gona happen. It's like sliding on ice side ways. Very scary. Never want to go though this ever again. This happen on a busy street with on coming vehicles that some how I didnt have head on collision. I do not have pics as my vehicle was towed to Ford dealership. Hide tire on passenger side pointed out and would drive side ways and that's what I was doing at 50 miles an hour. Not a good feeling.
When making a right hand turn I noticed that the car began making knocking/thumping noises. Shortly after those noises began, when I attempted to turn left the steering wheel got stuck in the left turn position. I had to jerk the steering wheel hard to get it to straighten out. If I had not been able to get it straightened out I could have driven off the road or into oncoming traffic. Ford had to replace the entire steering rack and the dealership acknowledged that this is a known issue for 2015 Explorers.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. While driving, a wobbling noise was heard from the rear of the vehicle. The contact checked the wheels, but did not notice anything abnormal. The wobbling noise became worse. The vehicle was taken to cole Ford Lincoln (410 e chicago st, coldwater, mi 49036, (517) 278-5661) the dealer was in the process of performing a rear alignment. The contact did not know the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and transferred the contact to NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000. The VIN was not available.
Noise when turning or backing up on drivers side. New shocks/struts have recently been put on the front.
Constant steering popping noises including occasional steering binding and locking up. I have had a few incidents where I narrowly avoided an accident after steering limited to approximately 30 degrees. I had to muscle the wheel, and after a loud bang, full steering rotation was regained. Likely the same issue as in previous year models where steering rack had to be replaced under a mass recall. Dealership assuming it is the same issue, yet the recall did not carry over to 2015's which suffer the same problem.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v435000 (suspension). The contact called tommie vaughn Ford at 888-841-4361 (located at 1201 n shepherd dr, houston, TX 77008) and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact was also informed that there was no provision for a loaner vehicle. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Recall items suspension unstable while in motion.
Vehicle makes grinding noise when turning right. This vehicle just has 40k miles and the struts should not be making sounds like this. This happens when the vehicle is in slow motion and in reverse. This was recalled in 2011-2014 but not in 2015 and I believe was in an on going issue. These vehicle was manufactured in July 2014.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while driving 60 mph the front suspension on the driver side collapsed. The vehicle veer to the left and hit the concrete barrier, bounced and hit the right concrete barrier. None of the frontal air bags deployed. The police was present and a report was issued. The contact was transported to the hospital by ambulance, treated and released. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The insurance company labeled the vehicle as destroyed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure,. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000. Bp.
When we turn the wheel to the right it has a loud popping noise during driving or stationary its progressing from a popping and something the steering wheel gets stuck. Told by two different mechanics that the popping noise has to do with strut and cv joint and electric steering gear and rack and pinion going bad. Our Explorer only has 91000 miles. Both mechanics say this is odd that this is going on for a 2015. That we should check for recalls.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 Ford Explorer. While driving 30 mph, the rear passenger side toe link cracked without warning. The contact lost control of the vehicle and had it towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic replaced the passenger side toe link, but the failure recurred while driving 40 mph. The vehicle was towed back to the independent mechanic who diagnosed that the driver's side toe link failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The contact associated the failures with NHTSA campaign number: 19v435000 (suspension). The vehicle was towed to brad manning Ford (402 manning drive, dekalb, IL 60115, 815-756-63250) where it was determined that the vehicle was not included in the recall; therefore, the contact paid for the repair. The failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and did not assist since the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

2015 Explorer sport - have a binding, popping noise when turning the steering wheel to the right. Pops before completing a full turn at full stop and will pop multiple times when doing a k-turn or right turn at slow speed. Had thrust washer, nuts, and other items replaced Nov 2017 at 34776 miles, now at 38000 and its back and of course techs can't duplicate. I also went to dealer and drove after they rotated tires and changed the oil and couldn't. Next morning in driving its doing it again, but one pop at a time at full stop. This must be a defect becuase I had the same type of problem in my 2013 Explorer. My warrenty is up and I need this fixed as I'm afraid to drive with confidence.
When my car is in any kind of turn you hear a popping noise . Not very loud but noticeable. Also when on a incline or decline a crunching noise can be heard. My son borrowed my car last weekend and noticed it. Took it to dealership and they of course cannot replicate this noise. With all of the other complaints about this same issue I am appalled that Ford has not looked into this. I guess not enough deaths or serious injuries have occurred yet for it to be on their radar.
I was driving my 2015 Explorer about 55 mph, coming up to a driveway I needed to turn into a few hundred feet away. Suddenly the car lurched and warning signals popped up on my dash. It alerted me my collision warning sensors failed and service advance trac. I attempted to brake and slow down for my trim and realized I had lost power brakes as well as power steering in my attempt to turn into the driveway. I narrowly missed hitting a tree while making the turn into the driveway. I coasted to a stop and immediately ran a vehicle diagnosis. It suggest I shut the vehicle off and turn it back on to see if the codes cleared. When I turned the vehicle on all warning were still displayed but brakes and steering returned. My local Ford was fairly close so my father in law attempted to drive it there and suddenly all codes cleared out of the vehicle.
My unit is suffering since day one from the exhaust issue, almost textbook to the typical description in the news; upon acceleration with the a/c on, the exhaust of the vehicle get in presumably through the back of the vehicle, which are then sucked into the a/c by it's suction units on the back and you end up smelling the exhaust gases for a while. The issue is specially present while the day is cold (mornings and nights), on climbs (inclined upwards roads) and specifically upon acceleration; it doesn't have to have the a/c max button on, the road type has no influence and its relative speed is not a factor but rather just acceleration. I took it three times to the dealer, specially after I read about the issue happening to other vehicles and they said with the modifications they did should be corrected (extension of the muffler, re-sealing the trunk door, other procedures), but it didn't!. Now I'm paying for an expensive car which has fouls and probably unhealthy odors getting into the car by its own design and have no recall or real solution to my problem. Please issue a recall or demand a real solution to the problem by Ford. If I would have the time and money I would have filed a lawsuit as I find almost a racket that you pay for a vehicle with such a bad design flaw and no real action to solve it from Ford. Also, it is not the only flaw as have had to repair the links of the front suspension (still under warranty) almost on every oil change visit, three times already, and the vehicle has less than 30k miles. Please help!!!!.
Stabalizer bar makes rattling noise. Vehicle only has 40,000 miles and have had dealership look at it. Stated they repaired it but front end still rattles. And repairs on this issue no longer covered under warranty. Makes noises as you travel down the highway.
August 24, 2015 I was driving to a 7:00 pm exercise class . I was talking to my mother via bluetooth when I suddenly blacked out and drove across the service road and all 4 lanes both north and south of 287 . I wake to emergency responders pulling me from the car and putting me into a ambulance , my mother could hear all of this. I was taken to hospital and had multiple tests run but nothing was found . After I was discharged I had several more tests run and again nothing was found. $18,000 damage to car , medical bills , missed work and I had to retest to keep my drivers license but I never could find a cause. Spring 2017 a friend sent me a article about Ford Explorers leaking carbon monoxide into the cabins . This made complete sense. I purchased a detector and have had it to go off twice. I am reporting this because Ford needs to address this issue . They have said this only happens in modified police vehicles but I can tell you by my experience that is not true.

Carbon monoxide in the Ford Explorer 2015 not fixed by Ford dealership purchased from new 2015, customer complained about since day one delivery, unstable movements, left right, side to side, not fixed by Ford dealership purchased. Dealership states (not our problem, prove it. ).
Driving home the vehicle veered to the left suddenly at approx 30 mph. Tried steering it to the right but it would not. Got out of vehicle to see that the left front suspension was on the ground. It had broken away from the car where it had been connected. Luckily I was not hurt just shaken up. It had to be put on a tow truck and taken to Ford.
