Wheel problem #1

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph exiting a residential area. The front wheel axle came apart. The contact's husband removed the shocks. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to her residence. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 17e048000 (wheels, suspension). The contact called the local dealer, who confirmed there were no associated recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 220,000.

Wheel problem #2

Rear toe link (driver side) just purchased the car from a police department and I was not aware of the recall. 10/8/24 I made an appointment for other service and was informant by elk river mn Ford dealer and recall is scheduled to be preformed 10/17/24. [xxx] at [xxx] when turning left at approximately 30mph (2 lane country roads) the vehicle became uncontrollable mid turn. Vehicle did not hit anything. After stopping found driver rear toe link had broken at the weld joint on the knuckle side. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Wheel problem #3

Other Explorers have a recall for electric steering problems but my VIN is not included in the recall. I only have 52,000 miles on the vehicle with clunking sounds when we back up with the wheels turn to the right. I also have had really bad tire wear on the back with the inside edge completely worn off. Toe in adjustment way off, says that this vehicle already had the fix for that but looks like it was not fixed right. We are still driving vehicle at this time but not sure if we should or not? we just had new tires put on vehicle and they checked for the clunking sound. There are no warning lamps on. I will be taking the vehicle to thr Ford dealer on October 23, 2024.

Wheel problem #4

The rack and pinion steering has gone bad. This is causing the vehicle to be hard to drive as it is very difficult to turn the wheel and control the vehicle. This is making it dangerous to drive as you are unable to turn the wheel very well.

Wheel problem #5

I jennifer porter went with my mom kathy mosmen to buy a vehicle off of peter micheal. It was a 2016 Ford Explorer. I payed 13,000. The began to lose control when driving on a bumpy road and while breaking I took the car to a Ford dealer and had some repairs, but they didn’t find the problem. I used the car sparingly and within two weeks it got much worse. Very unsafe to drive I brought it to another Ford dealership and I paid for substantial repairs for the suspension. The first time I drove it on a bumpy the car lost control again. I managed to regain control and drive it to the side of the road and had someone pick up the car. I went to trade the car in and learned the vehicle had been in two accidents and was reported as a total loss. Per the carfax report. We were never told it was a salvaged vehicle or we would never purchased it for our family vehicle. The vehicle is too unsafe to put back on the road. I bought a 2017 Ford Explorer at a dealership and traded in the 2016 Ford Explorer at a significant loss. The vehicle was in my possession for approx. Two months where it spent most of the time in different Ford repaid shops.

Wheel problem #6

On February 03, 2022 I took my to the Ford dealership in my area, I was told that rear toe link was replaced. After 8 months while I was driving the Explorer 2016, the car starts swerving from side to side, and lost the control. For few seconds I was struggling to stop the car, after I stopped the car I checked the tires, I saw the rear left passenger tire was loosen, and steering wheel wasn’t straight. Me and my friend were terrified and still not feeling alright. I lost the confidence in Ford Explorer.

Wheel problem #7

Vehicle started to feel heavy, and vibrate harder through the gas pedal and steering wheel. I took it to my local auto shop and the wheel bearing needs replaced.

Wheel problem #8

Two separate failure within a four day time span. Company sold me the vehixal said it was a tie rod and fixed the right passenger rear wheel. The vehical was real eased to me today with the understanding that the rear suspension was fully repaired. I had a high speed accident after the left rear tir rod broke at a speed of 80 mph. Due to the suspension breakage, the car went off the interstate at high speed. The rear end suspension had complete failure and the auto dealership released the vehicle to me with the full with assurance the issue was fixed. This was a very serious incident with a potential deadly outcome.

Wheel problem #9

My tire valve corroded after 3 years with the car. Which caused damage to the tire and the tire pressure sensor. The power steering went at 67000 miles. It stopped working completely while driving, extremely scary. The service department at the dealership said it is just something that happens. $2400 fix on a 4 year old car with 67000 miles and could have caused an accident.

Wheel problem #10

My 2016 Ford Explorer just turned 36,000 miles and all four of the hankook ventus s1 noble 2 tires that came on car have premature wear, with 3/32nd of an inch remaining on the tread. There have been numerous complaints about premature tread wear with this tire and Ford will not do anything about it. I was told by Ford motor customer service that because my car has turned 36,00 miles there is no warranty coverage or other recourse that I can take. This is a safety issue. The service manager at my local Ford dealer, chatham Ford, where I purchased the vehicle also told me that this particular tire should not be used on an Explorer. Yet my dealer also said that they cannot do anything to help me. There appears to be a defect with this tire and there should be a recall.

Wheel problem #11

Premature tire wear causing inadequate traction in adverse weather conditions.

Wheel problem #12

2016 Explorer limited purchased new, currently has 32,000 miles on it and tires are shredding and need to be replaced, well below the rating of 50,000 miles. Hankook tires.

Wheel problem #13

Hankook tries are shredding and premature tire wear. Vehicle has less than 33k miles. Shredded tires causing vehicle to slip and slide on the road while in motion. I almost had an accident. Now afraid for my safety; afraid to drive in snow.

Wheel problem #14

Tires are the hancock ventus s1 noble 2. 24,412 miles. Tread is worn badly and rubber is peeling off in layers and chunks. Dealer through hancock gave $125 off new tire as long as replaced with new hancock tire.

Wheel problem #15

The side wall of my hankook 255/50 r /20 ventus s1 noble 2 tire blew out. I have a 2" hole in the side wall of the tire. I was at a stop sign on a city street, and just started moving when the side wall blew out. It sounded like a large balloon explosion and the tire went flat instantly. Some hankook tires have been recalled but the local Ford dealer told me not this one. These hankook tires should be recalled.

Wheel problem #16

Tires have less than 18,000 miles on them and have numerous cuts and gouges throughout. Tires are skidding on wet roads causing for unsafe driving conditions. Ford and hankook are saying that it's not a safety concern and that my tires could be pro-rated. There are many complaints online from other Ford owners. Tires defective and should be recalled immediately.

Wheel problem #17

The tires on this vehicle have gone completely bald despite proper pressure and rotation. With only 22000 miles on this vehicle it is more than clear there is a manufacturer issue with these tires. There are over 2000 on-line articles regarding this issue but very few know to file their complaints here. The govt. Needs to take action on this latest Explorer tire issue before more injuries or deaths occur. Both the maker and Ford are pointing fingers at eachother while I have 10,000 miles remaining on my lease the dealer said I can replace the tires for $500. That's great for them and the next owner they sell it to, but not so much for me.

Wheel problem #18

I leased a new Ford Explorer sport model back in may of 2016. As of today's date I only have 18,977 miles on it. The hankook ventus s1 noble2 original factory tires have almost no tread left on any of the 4 tires. I paid no attention to the tread until I hydroplaned on the highway. A quick google search shows that several people have this same complaint with these tires. I spoke with Ford and the tire manufacturer and have gotten no where, each blaming each other. This is a 50,000 mile tire however losing all it's tread before 20,000 miles. This is fraud and a safety issue that should be investigated immediately. There has been recalls on this same tire however not for this size 255/50r20 105h.

Wheel problem #19

Urchased new 2016 Ford Explorer limited 4wd 4dr in 2016. The oem tires on the vehicle are hankook ventus s1 nobel 2 tires, sized 255/50r20. The dot rating is "5mnc 1ah 2715". My first tire was replaced at 32,789 at the local Ford dealer under hankook "warranty" because the front tire tread was "flaking/peeling" on the inner tread, middle tread and outer tread. The charge was prorated, my portion $112 plus mounting and balancing and disposal. At 33,817 miles I noticed a second tire was flaking and peeling so I took the vehicle to the Ford dealer I purchased it from. Tire was replaced under hankook "warranty" at 34,171. Currently the 2 other tires are not showing the same defect, yet. My prorated cost for the tire was $152. 00 (tire full price $212) and I had to pay for mount, balance and disposal. Tire still had 3/32 left on tread and tire rated for 50,000 miles. Replacement tire has dot 5mnc 0318 and old tire was 5mnc 1ah 2715. Dealer stated hankook might not pay for prorated replacement of the 2 remaining tires if they begin to peel or flake. The last 2 tires have 3/32 and 4/32 tread left and dealer suggested replacement but only if I paid the full price for them. I will replace them using a different tire manufacturer when they reach end of life which is 2/32 and purchase from a different manufacturer. Reviewing other complaints it appears hankook has a defective tire on their hands and will only pay for 100% tire replacement under warranty if 25% or less wear has occurred which is 12,500 miles on tire rated at 50,000 miles. Hoping NHTSA will review and investigate this length complaint list and see there is a problem with this model tire manufactered in 2016 and 2017 and force hankook to reimburse customers for any out of pocket expenses they have paid to replace tire(s).

Wheel problem #20

Original hankook front tires were replaced at about 10k miles due to premature wear and chunk of tires peeling off. Dealer stated that it was due to poor alignment. I paid for 2 new tires. Ford eventually reimbursed us for one of them. Now, 8k miles later the tires are just as bad as the ones that were replaced. The rear ones are almost smooth. Hankook is aware of the problem and they have instructed the dealers to replace them with a different model yet my dealer will not do it.

Wheel problem #21

Purchased new 2016 Ford Explorer limited 4wd 4dr in 2016. The oe tires on the vehicle were 4 hankook ventus s1 nobel 2 tires, sized 255/50r20. The dot rating is "5mnc 1a h". At 32,789 miles 1 tire was replaced under hankook "warranty". The front tire treads were "flacking/peeling" on the innner tread, middle tread and outer tread. 3 other tires not showing the same defect. Took vehicle to Ford dealer where purchased and who is a hankook dealer. My prorated cost for the tire was $112. 40 for mount and balance. Retail cost of tire was $214. 00. Tire still had 3/32 left on tread and tire rated for 50,000 miles. Replacement tire has dot 5mnc 1ah 5117 and old tire was 5mnc 1ah 2715. Reviewing other complaints it appears hankook has a defective tire on their hands and will only pay for 100% tire replacement under warranty if 25% or less wear has occurred which is 12,500 miles on tire rated at 50,000 miles. Hoping NHTSA will see there is a problem with this model tire manufactered in 2016 and 2017 and force hankook to reimburse customers for any out of pocket expenses they have paid to replace tire(s).

Wheel problem #22

Tires are worn completely out at 25,000. Have had flaking and shredding tread during premature wear. 50,000 mile tire.

Wheel problem #23

Vehicle has 23,000 miles, purchased new in 2016. Tires have premature tread wear and are already worn thin to the point of replacement. Current tire condition is not safe. Tires are hankook 255 50r20 105h ventus s1 noble 2.

Wheel problem #24

Hankook tires are shredding under norman city driving. Car has approx 30,000 kms. Side are perfect, only in the center of the tire is there any shredding. Literally, large chunks of tire missing. Driving is city pavement. Under 50 mph.

Wheel problem #25

Hankook ventus s1 noble 2 tires 265/50r20 105h have 23,950 miles on them and the tread is already worn on outer side of 4 tires. Reviews all of the internet are consistent in that hankook tires (optimum and ventus s1 noble 2 series) do not last more than 25,000 miles (compared to the manufacturer's 50,000 mile rating. Tire manufacturer is refusing to replace it and only offering slight discount on new tires. This is gross negligence of their responsibility and warranty.

Wheel problem #26

I was driving on I-94 east in harrison twp, mi on 3/9/18. I was traveling a 70 mph. I heard something and suddenly I am saw white all around me like a tunnel. At that moment I was still in my lane. Within seconds the I had no control of my vehicle as though I had no brakes or steering. My car veered left hitting the cement median. The car rolled on its left side and eventually flipped back upright. There were no other vehicles in the accident. My daughter, 14, and I were in the vehicle and were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. On 3/8/18 my vehicle was serviced at the Ford dealer to replace a wheel bearing. The service man made a comment about our tires wearing quickly and shredding. We previously replaced them at 22,500 miles. Currently my vehicle had 58,000 miles. The vehicle was a total loss. I truly think the accident was due to a defect in the car. I called Ford to report the incident and they refused to investigate and wouldn't even send be a letter stating they would not. The insurance company said they will not investigate the car because I was the only vehicle so it was obviously my fault. Both companies refused to investigate. My injuries were not substansial enough for anyone to take notice. I thought that is why vehicles have black boxes were installed. I am fearful 2016 Explorer owners or the innoccent bystanders are going be hurt or worse if Ford doesn't take this seriously. I truly believe the white tunnel was the side air bags deployed.

Wheel problem #27

2016 for Explorer sport - purchased brand new. Vehicle has 15k miles now and I am hearing a loud popping / creaking sound that occurs when turning the steering wheel either left or right when the car is in motion. It's most noticeable at a slower rate of speed when turning into a parking space or turning from a complete stop. Today, on 3 separate occasions, when turning left the steering locked up and I had to jerk the steering wheel to the right in order to get the vehicle to go straight again. Each time this has happened there is another loud pop sound that can be heard. This is a major complaint across the board with 2014 - 2016 Explorers along with the wheel bearing, suspension and loss of power complaints.

Wheel problem #28

Hankook ventus s1 noble 2 tires 265/50r20 105h have 22,150 miles on them and the tread is already 1/2 worn. I have a 2015 taurus sho with 20,550 miles (michelin tires) and the tread is in perfect condition. Server dealer checked wear, wear is even on all 4 tires. Tire manufacturer claims 50,000 mile warranty; however, service dealer stated that isn't true. On 2/7/18 at 09:00, I nearly went off of the road on w/approximately 1-2 inches of snow on the road (packed down). At 09:05, I slid for more than 500 feet into an intersection (no ice present) into oncoming traffic. Had oncoming traffic not stopped and my vehicle finally turning 90 degrees, I would've been t-boned in a bad accident. My wife has been complaining about the safety of these tires, well I experienced it first hand. All of this happened when the vehicle was put into 4x4 (snow/sand) mode traveling no more than 35-40 mph on a 55 mph road. Due to these pathetic tires, we are unable to drive this vehicle safely when the roads are snow covered. My 2015 taurus sho w/michelin tires and 20,550 miles experiences none of these issues in the snow. The service dealer claims these are performance tires; however, that is not the case. Reviews all of the internet are consistent in that hankook tires (optimum and ventus s1 noble 2 series) do not last more than 25,000 miles (compared to the manufacturer's 50,000 mile rating. The service dealer indicated no abnormal wear and tear on the tires or their tread.

Wheel problem #29

Hankook ventus s1 noble 2 tires size 255/50r20 105h. They came on my vehicle when I bought it back in June 2016. I only have 13,900 miles on my tires and the treads splitting, cracking and peeling horribly they are supposed to be warrantied for 50,000 miles. I went to my Ford dealership about the tires and they contacted hankook and they are pro-rating my tires as 50% tread worn and going to make me pay for 2 new tires but said they are discounting them but with me pricing the tires they aren't. Tires aren't supposed to be doing this less than 14,000 miles. I saw other complaints from other people on how horrible the tires are and the same happening with them. I would of never known this if it wasn't to check my tires and the person at the tire place told me how bad the tires are.

Wheel problem #30

Hankook ventus s1 noble 2 oem tires exhibiting unusual wear, tires chipping and shredding at less than 20,000 miles.

Wheel problem #31

My Explorer has 29k miles on it and the hankook tires are peeling! I notified the service department spoke to julio. Was told it is a common complaint w these tires and it's because they are cheaply made! I told him I'm not okay w driving around my baby and son knowing the tires are peeling. We have not even had this vehicle for two years! he assured me they are safe and I told him I want it in writing . Well the manager was telling him to tell me they can't do that because if I hit something and they burst they do not want to be liable! I overheard and went over and she took me outside and I started recording her and she said they are not safe they are worn down!! I then told her they shouldn't be! she said they all performance tires and do not last as long! I told her I had a hour drive back w my 9 month old she was not concerned ! I have sense been looking online and noticed the recent recall on hankook tires. Mine are ventus s1 noble 2 and I called hankook and was told to contact txdot to complain so hopefully they will be recalled as welll. Please do something before someone is seriously hurt or worse!!!.

Wheel problem #32

This is now the third sidewall failure on this vehicle; all three times, it was the right front tire. Hancook ventus s1 noble 255/50r20 tires. First off, these tires are rated for 50,000 miles. At approximately 28,000 miles, dealership stated that these tires would need to be replaced soon. Have read numerous complaints about lousy tread life and sidewall failures on this tire/vehicle. The dealership always tries to claim that we must have hit a pothole. This is not the case! these tires are crap! fortunately, all three incidents have occurred at (relatively) low speed on surface streets. Thankfully, they didn't occur at highway speeds. My wife does not feel safe in this vehicle and we still have approximately 10 months left on the lease.

Wheel problem #33

I have 16,000 miles and 14 months on the original hankook tires supplied on my new vehicle. These tires are marketed as 50,000 mile tires. All 4 tires are showing significant degradation, tread separation, and breakdown. The two tires which were on the front (due for a rotation) are significantly worse. I am currently at 65% tread depth wear (and should be closer to 40%) due to the crumbling tread. Dealer stated this was a faulty tire.

Wheel problem #34

Ford Explorer sport with 14,800 miles and tires are completely worn on outer and inner bands. Chunks of tire are falling off and are now needing replacement. Ford says normal wear and defers to manufacturer even though within 100 miles of owning this vehicle they had to replace a tire due to extreme imbalance. Alignment is perfect as stated by les schwab. They state its a defective tire. Ford case number cas-12971920 google photos https://goo. Gl/photos/kyw5qrtpgmjkaja2a.

Wheel problem #35

Vehicle almost failed inspection because of tire wear and damage. Tires are hankook ventus s1 noble2 255/50r20 105h with just over 21000 miles on them. Tire tread is minimal and rubber appears to be "flaking" off. Dealer says tires look like they have been driven a lot on gravel roads, which they haven't. Dealer says that even though they are original equipment on the vehicle, I must take them to an authorized hankook dealer (which hankook says my dealer is one of). All four tires exhibit similar problems.

Wheel problem #36

Purchased new 2016 Ford Explorer sport in Jan 2017. Last week at 5400 miles tire sensor indicated that front passenger tire lost air to 6lbs while parked. Took to dealer who said puncture occurred which never did occur. Small crack in sidewall looks like defect on same tire that has been recalled by hankook but in a smaller size. Tire is a 20" hankook ventus s1 noble 2. Tire appears to be designed for sedan or sports car but was oem tire on Ford Explorer sport. . . Could be a problem? dealer eventually replaced tire with same without admitting it was defective.

Wheel problem #37

Noticed 2 weeks ago that the hankook ventus s1 noble2 tires on our Explorer were peeling and chunks were coming out. We brought the car to the dealer since they had just performed a tire rotation a couple weeks prior and said the tires were in good shape. They said "OH, you have the hankook? those are known for that". They could not replace them. Contacted hankook and Ford. We were told they would put new hankook tires on, but after looking at the complaints online and the fact that hankook lists the tires as "the hankook ventus s1 noble 2 tire is an ultra high performance all-season tire that is developed specifically for high end sports cars and maximum handling. " this would mean they are not designed for a 4 wheel drive SUV. We are still dealign with Ford to try and get a different tire put on our vehicle. How such an unsafe tire can be something that a car dealer and manufacturer can knowingly put on a car when "it is a known issue on this vehicle with this tire" is beyond my understanding. Tread wear was at 11,100 when this issue occurred.

Wheel problem #38

All 4 hanook tires dot # 5mnc 1a h (0216) 255/50/r20 treads have been chipping resulting in unsafe conditions and excessive wear. Tires completely worn out at 23,000 miles. Manufacturer is aware if this resulting from new compounds (materials) used in manufacturing. High speed blowouts have been reported for this particular tire yet no recall has been issued for this tire despite its defects and safety concerns. I first notice it on two front tires just prior vehicle was taken in for annual service may 2017.

Wheel problem #39

The tires on my 2016 Ford Explorer sport are ventus s1 noble 2 20 inch tires and they have been peeling, chipping and cracking for the past 8 months. I rotate my tires every 7000 to 8000 miles but the tires are wearing prematurely. I've been told that it is safe to drive but these shouldn't be happening on a vehicle with less than 40,000 miles. Really, this should be happening at all. There was a recall on these tires but only on the 18 and 19 inch tires not the 20 inch. There should have been a recall on the 20 as well.

Wheel problem #40

Tread on my hankook tires is peeling off. They have 27,000 miles on them. I only drive to work and back. They are the ventus s1 noble 2.

Wheel problem #41

The tires have 26000 miles on them and the tire is peeling off like flakes. I live in gainesville, FL, which has very good roads and I drive 99% of the time within city other than going to orlando or jacksonville on i75. Also the tires have worn off way too quickly than normal as they have reached 4mm wear within 26000 miles!! the tire manufacturer is refusing to replace it and only offering 4% discount on new tires. This is gross negligence of their responsibility and warranty.

Wheel problem #42

Hankook ventus s1 noble 2 255/50r20 105h tires. At 20,000 noticed rubber pieces of tread peeling away and chipping from all four clearly defective tires. This defect appears similar to tread being sliced by razor blades all over the tires. Dealer acknowledges defective tires, but refuses to honor Fords warranty to prorate replacement at less 60 percent, and is only willing to replace with same brand of tire at 20 percent discount off $242. 00 which is clearly overcharging as I can find these tires for $97 retail. . These tires are dangerous and should be recalled in like manner as hankooks other 47000 tires which were recalled. I have seen other reports on the same tires on Ford Explorers. Something must be done before people are injured by the malfunction of these tires, or worse. Ford should be forced to recall these tires.

Wheel problem #43

2016 Ford Explorer purchased July 2016. 9800 miles. Took it in to the dealer for an oil change and tire rotation. They told us the tires were shot. Hankook ventus s1 noble 2 h452 255/50r20 105h bsw. They asked us if the car had ever gotten stuck or if we ever drive on gravel roads. The car has never been stuck but we do have a gravel driveway. They offered to sell us a new set of tires and send the old tires back to hankook for analysis. Called Ford corporate and opened a case cas11650061. Same response - buy a new set of tires and we'll send them back to hankook for analysis. I finally reviewed the specifications for these tires: "the hankook ventus s1 noble 2 tire is an ultra high performance all-season tire that is developed specifically for high end sports cars and maximum handling. " now I know why I've been finding pieces of rubber on my concrete turn-around pad. Parts of the tread are peeling off. Shame on me for not doing the research first, and seeing that these tires are not suitable for service on a 4wd Explorer. Shame on Ford for specifying this tire for this vehicle. I'll be buying a new set of tires at my local tire shop. These tires will not be hankook ventus s1 noble 2 h452 255/50r20 105h bsw tires. These tires will be suitable for service on a Ford Explorer. I can't afford to be buying a new set of tires every 10k miles.

Wheel problem #44

When driving on a highway at approximately 70mph, I completely lost control of my vehicle for no known reason. I veered across 3 lanes of traffic and back across 2 more. Cars were swerving around me and miraculously I was not in an accident. I pulled over to the side of the road and other cars traveling behind me at the time did too. We couldn't see any reason why the car wasn't working properly so after catching my breath, I tried to get back on the road. I could feel my car intermittently "slipping". It felt as though it was losing traction and I was losing control and not able to steer. I ultimately pulled over and called a towtruck as I knew my vehicle was unsafe to drive. The tow truck driver saw that my rear tires were completely bald only on the inside. My car had 27,000miles on it at the time. I replaced the back 2 tires that day. And the front 2 the following day. 2 weeks later, my car was not driving properly and I brought it into a local Ford dealership for service. They performed a diagnostic. They told me my rear suspension was a mess, the uppercontrol arm needed to be replaced, the bushings on my back right wheel were lose and had a lot of play and that none of this was covered under my b2b warranty because the right rear tow link was bent and the weddings were lose. Also, the tires I put on 2 weeks ago were stripped bald on the insides again and needed tombs replaced. My car has never been in an accident. Ford recalled 75,000 explores made in 2014-15 due to faulty rear suspension from improper welding of tow links. I believe my car is a demonstration that this is still an ongoing manufacturer issue with these vehicles and I want to properly report it so that other young mothers do not have the same dangerous encounter that I had.

Wheel problem #45

I purchased a Ford Explorer XLT back in September of 2015. Now, after only 16 months of driving and 23,000 miles driven my dealer is telling me that I need new tires on the car. We have hankook ventus s1 noble2 tires (h452) and the tires carry a tread warranty of 50,000 miles however the dealer says they don't guarantee the tire and I called hankook and they said they only guarantee tires that you purchase secondarily and not on oem tires included in the purchase of the car. Tire size is 255/50r20. I would think that either the dealer or the manufacture would stand behind their product instead of pawning it off on one another while I apparently have to fork out $1,000. 00 for a bad product. Not sure what else to say except I would advise anybody looking for tires to never buy hancook tires.

Wheel problem #46

~tl-the contact owns a 2016 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that he had hancook tires when he bought the vehicle new. The tire were bald at 11,000 miles. The dealer statted that it was not their issue and to contact the tire manufacturer. The tire manufacturer decided to award the contact with a 20% credit to buy some new tires. The new tires were placed on the vehicle and they are almost bald at 34,000 miles. The Ford manufacturer advised the contact to recontact the dealer cogswell Ford 1900 e main st, russellville, ar 72801 479-968-2665. The contact suspects the issue was with the wheels. Wheel problem #47

Parts of the hankook ventus s1 noble2 255/50r20 105h tire treads are just ripping off for no apparent reason on all my tires and this is an awd vehicle. It has 17,000 miles. This vehicle is just used by wife to drop off my son at school. They are breaking off without being mistreated. Just noticed today 12-13-2016.

Wheel problem #48

2016 Ford Explorer with hankook ventus s1 noble 2 tires. Approximately 3 months ago my wife was driving on a local surface street at 45 mph. Her tire pressure monitor illuminated on the dash while simultaneously the vehicle veered sharply to the right. Upon inspection there was a 2-3 inch laceration in the sidewall of the front passenger side tire. There were not any potholes in the street where this incident occurred. Tire seemed to have simply "blown out". Tire was replaced. Yesterday my wife was making a left turn from from one surface street to another traveling approximately 15-20 mph and the replacement tire blew out again. Similar details; tire pressure monitor illuminated while vehicle suddenly veered to the right. Again, no potholes were present and zero indication of foreign objects causing flat. There was approximately a 2-3 inch laceration to sidewall of front passenger tire. These two incidents occurred in a relatively short time span. I have read complaints about weak sidewalls regarding these tires as early as 2013. Additionally, hankook and Hyundai have issued a recall for these tires (albeit a different size) due to sidewall problems. Without potholes and/or foreign objects causing the flat tires, it seems obvious that these tires are defective. My wife does not feel safe in her vehicle, and is afraid that another blowout may occur while traveling at higher speeds (freeway).

Wheel problem #49

While moving at high speed in rush-hour traffic in the fast lane on hwy 680 s in dublin, CA the engine just shut down. This is dangerous. The car was towed to Ford for repair - they state it was a "throttle body assembly" problem - apparently a well-know problem. This happened with less than 6,000 miles. Also, all 4 original equipment tires blew-out with less than 6,000 miles - only one had a road-hazard - all had sidewall failures. Ford repaired the throttle-body assembly but not the tires. To keep us happy, they offered us an "extended warranty" - this was never provided - indeed, despite repeated e-mails to 2 Ford representatives over a 3-month time-period, I no longer receive any response from them whatsoever. Therefore, it would seem that not only are they providing a dangerous product, they are also deceptive in their handling of customers.
