Air bag light on dash. Caused by dtc b141b. Found TSB related to connectors under rear seat mp 130. Car was stationary.
Airbag light has been coming on intermittently for over 1 year. Diagnostic test determined there is a faulty connection to the 2nd row inflatable seatbelt sensor. Ford issued a service bulletin to replace the wire harness pig tail connection. When the air bag light is illuminated due to this faulty connection, all of the air bags in the vehicle are deactivated. This is extremely dangerous, and my family has been driving the car in this condition for over a year. Upon further research, numerous cases exist reporting the same issue. Please address this safety issue.
Driving down the road and the air bag light comes on and now it wont go off. It stays on 24/7. This is an issue in many 2016 Ford Explorers and it has yet to be recalled. This is a safety issue.
Upon starting my car for the third time that day my air bag light came on and does not go off. I also have a problem with it occasionally not registering my drivers seatbelt as buckled or unbuckled.
I took my vehicle in for an airbag light and was told that the wire assembly located under the rear seat was damaged/faulty. This seems to be a very common issue (see links below) that required me to replace the wiring and was not covered under warranty but is a safety item that is well documented by others in online forums. Airbag light comes on and stays on for weeks at a time and then comes off. This tends to happen when it rains.
Air bag light keeps coming on. Right now it is at the dealership, hopefully to be fixed.
Airbag indicator light stays on. Checked with obd, no codes. Took to dealer and they stated that they would need to remove all the seats and rewire. Researched and found TSB 16-0001which supersedes TSB 15-0113. . Read more...
My driver side airbag light is on my dash I have plugged in and unplugged all of the seatbelts reset the airbag light and it stays off for a while. This is definitely a safety issue I understand it is either a sensor or they are having problems with the wiring harness this should be addressed in a recall. The front passenger side seat warmer/cooler does not work, not sure if that issue is part of the airbag light problem.
The 2nd row airbag light came on, and Ford told me it was a shortage in the wires and it wasn't covered under the manufacturers warranty. They stated that since the airbag light was on, the short in the wiring would stop the airbag from deploying, which in turn is a safety issue.
Airbag light came on around 50,000, was told harness needed to be replaced under driver's seat due to wires fraying from seat movement. Work was done under warranty. Mileage now around 92,000, airbag light again intermediately illuminated while driving, after taking it back to dealership was told it was the same exact problem and now it's an $1100 fix, not covered under warranty. I was told Ford is aware of the problem but no recall as of yet has been initiated. After looking online, seems this is a pretty common problem!.
The airbag light came on. I took the vehicle to my local Ford dealer. The computer code revealed a fault in the srs system causing a rear airbag not to function properly. I was informed that this is not covered by the srs warranty and would have to pay $500 for the replacement of a wire.

At approx 48,000 miles, airbag light came on. Car was not moving, was parked for 9 hours after a day of work. Nothing hit, no impact. Ford dealer diagnosis: airbag harness/connector issue traced back to rear passenger seat behind driver. 1. 5 days work and $478. 93 charge, not a warranty or recall repair. Airbag circuit inoperative. Fix is per tsb16-0001. I am keeping the parts the dealer is replacing. Requires removal of rear seats/replace/splice connector. Dealer not forgiving.

Standard driving drug with no crashes. Airbag light began coming on intermittently while driving in early to mid October of 2018 (around 45,000 miles). After a full week of the light staying on vehicle was taken to dealership. The harness connector was loose. Five to seven days after repair the light began coming on intermittently again. A second dealership said the gardens connector was loose. Two to the weeks later the light came on and persisted. I was told in late may that it was the wiring harness before the front passenger seat. After some issues with the dealership, it was taken to the dealership that originally fixed it in October 2018. This time both the passenger wiring harness and airbag were replaced. Over $800 and 3. 5 hour appointment for the actual fix. Pictures from initial service are attached.
On a city street experience loss of accelerating power while coming to stop and crossing an intersection the vehicle will star at a snail pace bringing up the speed to 40 mph on limp mode since the vehicle service wrench tool and air bag light up on the dash board vehicle will not respond pushing down on the gas pedal.
