The contact wife owns a 2016 Ford Explorer. The contact stated while his wife was pulling out of the driveway, she noticed a loud clanking and grinding noise coming from the steering gear. The contacts wife stated the steering control became very difficult to operate when driving the vehicle which could become very hazardous and was a state of concern for the contact, no warning light illuminated. The dealer was not contacted, and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 123,684.

The contact owns a  2013 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 20 mph, the power steering seized. There were no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
