One problem related to door latch has been reported for the 2001 Ford Explorer Sport. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
At just under 40,000 miles,the driver's door latch began to fail, causing the door to either not close completely without vigorous slamming, or failed to open from the inside. Dealer has replaced the latch.
