Vehicle fails to start on occasion. The engine will turn over, but will not catch. After waiting for several hours or a day, the vehicle will once again start. Sometimes, after letting the engine turn over many, many time, the engine will catch. This seems to happen mostly when the weather is hot. First incident was on July 14, 2004 only a few weeks after we bought the explorer.

Vehicle had been parked for 10 minutes, driver tried to start vehicle, it failed to kick over. Driver could hear the motor clicking ,but it did not start. Electrical system was operating. Had notified the dealer, but the problem had not been duplicated or resolved.
