1 Fuel Delivery problem of the 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Failure Date: 08/06/2006

I have a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac - the fuel delivery system switch seems to shut down all by itself. Once about 6 months ago when I was at a stand still in the left hand turn lane of a busy intersection and again last night while driving on the very busy 405 fwy. The truck just "shuts off" no gas, no nothing. I had one passenger injured as we were pulled over, a car went buy at a high rate of speed and knocked my friend into the side of the truck. This is a very dangerous situation. You can't drive a vehicle that will just turn itself off in "mid-stream" I could have caused a very big accident.

2 Fuel Delivery problem of the 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Failure Date: 08/14/2003

Vehicle will stall after sitting overnight and the engine has not reach normal operating temperature, fuel tank full and the vehicle is proceeding up an incline. When vehicle stalls you can start the vehicle and proceed. After reaching normal operating temperature or the vehicle have travel forty to eighty miles on the tank of gas it will not duplicate the problem until you refill the tank again. If the tank is kept full or no more than one or two gallons are used up. It will not stall. I have had it back for repair five or six times but no luck. The last visit to the dealer they put a recorder on the vehicle which I kept for three weeks and it recorded the stall. The dealer stated that it was being overfilled but I never overfill the vehicle and I explained that to them. I purchase the vehicle new on 7/31/03 and drove it home on the tank of gas the dealer put in it. The vehicle sat for ten days while I was on vacation and when I returned I drove it the next day and it stalled and it had not been refueled. The tank was still full from the dearler's original fill-up. I took it back the first time 8/19/03 and the dealer replace a part(valve) that they indicated may have been defective but it did not fix the problem.

3 Fuel Delivery problem of the 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Failure Date: 08/19/2002

Spits out gas when I start to fill it up. It has been in the shop 7 times between 8/02-2/03 for a cumlative total of 35 days! it's running now, but for how long before it goes back in the shop is anybody's guess. I asked one of the service advisors if there were any other sport tracs with the same problem, he said no. If that was the case, why was the part he needed to fix my truck on national backorder? this needs to be brought to everyones attention that has a sport trac. Gas spitting out is a major safety concern that needs to be looked in to before someone is seriously hurt or killed!.

4 Fuel Delivery problem of the 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Failure Date: 12/28/2001

2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac-during fueling gas spits out of the filler. Service manager said to me that lots of sport tracs have this problem and Ford can't find the answer to it. They are not letting this out to the public or on a technical service bulletin. This is very dangerous and someone should look into it! my sport trac has been in their for over a month and they haven't resolved this yet!!!!!!!.
